CONTRACT TITLE College Assistant FLSA Non-exempt CAMPUS SPECIFIC INFORMATION Position Overview: The Child Development Center is seeking a reliable and organized College Assistant to support front desk operations and clerical functions. This part-time position plays a key role in maintaining an efficient, welcoming environment for families, visitors, and staff. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, professional, and comfortable performing a variety of administrative tasks in a child-centered environment. This position reports directly to the Childcare Center Director. Key Responsibilities: Operate the front desk by answering phone calls, greeting and checking in visitors, and directing inquiries appropriately. Manage filing systems and maintain accurate departmental records, including schedules, directories, and inventory logs. Perform general clerical duties such as typing letters and memos, making copies, sorting mail, issuing keys and ID cards, and relaying messages to the appropriate staff. Assist with event logistics, including vendor coordination and preparation of materials. Collect and compile data for reports; code and enter data into computer systems as needed. Operate office equipment such as computers, printers, copiers, and scanners. Perform basic library-related tasks, such as sorting/shelving books and entering information into library systems. Maintain a welcoming, organized, and professional front desk environment. Additional Information: This position requires a commitment of **20 hours per week The hourly pay rate is \$19.12 (non-negotiable pending contractual increases) Must be available to work on-site during assigned hours Must be fingerprinted by Identogo-DOE prior to starting the position. OTHER QUALIFICATIONS Preferred Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Basic computer proficiency, especially with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace. Strong organizational, interpersonal, and written communication skills. Ability to manage sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality. Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team. COMPENSATION $19.12 an hour BENEFITS CUNY offers a comprehensive benefits package to employees and eligible dependents based on job title and classification.
