Available Title(s): 150-NN_FACULTY - Associate Dean & Professor Business Title: Associate Dean for Professional Programs Employee Type: Faculty Position Term: 12 Month Position Details: The Opportunity: The College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM) at Washington State University (WSU) is seeking to fill a full-time permanent Associate Dean for Professional Programs (ADPP) position. The ADPP will be a tenured full professor with a flexible appointment assignment depending upon interest. The ADPP reports directly to the dean and serves as a member of the college leadership team. The ADPP has broad oversight and responsibility for the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) program with direct engagement in program curriculum, assessment, operations, academic affairs, and accreditation. The ADPP serves on the Academic Council and interacts with the leads for all 4 years of the DVM curriculum. In addition, the ADPP supervises well-established leaders and functional teams in student affairs, admissions, and counseling and wellness. As a tenured faculty member, the ADPP maintains an active teaching, advising, and mentoring role in the DVM curriculum and contributes to professional, undergraduate, and/or graduate instruction. Additional Information: Annual base salary : Full Professor: $165,000 - $175,000 Administrative stipend: $20,000 Commensurate with experience and qualifications. In addition, while serving as Associate Dean of Professional Programs, this position will be eligible for an administrative stipend for the duration of the Associate Dean appointment. Salary will be determined based on qualifications and experience. The ranges shown reflect the 12-month faculty base salary, along with the ranges for an administrative stipend for year-round responsibilities associated with the Associate Dean appointment. In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate's current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position. Successful candidates typically begin up to mid-point of the salary range. About the DVM Program: The college is the 5th oldest veterinary program in the United States and we celebrated our 125th anniversary in 2024. Our educational program is progressive, we are home to the Teaching Academy and are leaders in the Regional Teaching Academy. We are home to innovative programs including diagnostic challenges and the first accredited simulation-based education that includes excellent communications training. About the College: The WSU CVM is home to five departments/schools, including Veterinary Clinical Sciences (VCS), Veterinary Microbiology and Pathology (VMP), Integrative Physiology and Neuroscience (IPN), the School of Molecular Biosciences (SMB), and the Paul G. We have a full-service Veterinary Teaching Hospital (VTH). The VTH is a referral and primary care center whose mission is to improve the health and well-being of all animals through excellence in medical care, training future veterinarians, and finding innovative ways to diagnose and treat disease. Dedicated to this vision and mission are more than 60 full-time faculty members and 170 staff and house officers. The VTH is the leading referral center in the state of Washington and the Pacific Northwest with over 20,000 patient visits per year. We are also home to the Washington Animal Disease Diagnostic Laboratory (WADDL) whose mission is to provide accurate, state-of-the-art, timely, and cost-effective diagnostic services, consultation, disease surveillance and outreach to safeguard animal health, the food supply, and public health. The WADDL is a USDA-APHIS National Animal Health Laboratory Network (NAHLN) Tier I Laboratory and is in the FDA Veterinary Laboratory Investigation and Response Network for investigation of food safety.
