Departmental Overview The Athletic Study Center (ASC) provides academic advising and support services to approximately 900 student-athletes in 27 sports at the University of California at Berkeley. The ASC, located in the Division of Undergraduate Education, employs 18 full time staff and 60-80 part time employees (primarily tutors). The Athletic Study Center supports student athletes in developing as independent, self-reliant and successful young adults by encouraging them to integrate, participate, and become vested members in the academic community. Application Review Date The First Review Date for this job is: April 23, 2026 Responsibilities The Academic Operations Specialist for the Athletic Study Center plays a crucial role in coordinating and improving the day to day operations for the unit. The position will review, prepare and analyze data from the department's internal database and student information systems to assist unit leadership in coordinating and implementing a variety of operational tasks and projects. After each cycle of a project or task is completed, the operations analyst will assess current processes and make recommendations for improving and/or finding efficiencies for future cycles. The role will be involved in analyzing and coordinating a variety of operations related to organizing the academic advising and academic support services the unit provides to UC Berkeley's student-athlete population. These operations include coordination of exam proctoring services, informational orientations and workshops for student athletes, student athlete transfer portal evaluations, tutorial program and study hall coordination and annual departmental reporting and assessments.

This range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, analysis of internal equity, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be offered a salary at or near the top of the range for a position. Salary offers are determined based on final candidate qualifications and experience. The budgeted hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position is $31.00 - $37.00
