| INDUSTRY SPECIALIST - CUNY Inclusive Economy Initiative (Acad. Internship Specl (HEOa)) - SOCIOLOGY DEPARTMENT POSITION DETAILS The CUNY Inclusive Economy Initiative at Hunter College seeks an Industry Specialist to identify career opportunities and grow hiring pipelines for Hunter College students and graduates. The Industry Specialist will engage with employers in defining workforce needs, identifying hiring challenges and opportunities, specifying skills and proficiencies needed to fill available roles, and exploring partnerships to help grow New York?s emerging industries. This position reports to the Chair of Sociology. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Build a Community: Secure partnerships with employers offering paid internship, clinical placement, and full-time job opportunities to students with target majors Continuously cultivate and grow employer relationships Share employment opportunities and, where appropriate, refer qualified students to employers for specific roles. Establish a Peer Network: Coordinate with other industry specialists, campus career offices and CUNY leadership to maximize industry partnerships benefiting the campus and to learn about student and employer needs. Create Pathways: Secure paid internships and full-time job offers within target majors for our newest graduates. Communicate and Improve: Share knowledge with faculty, advisors, and the broader campus to encourage alignment with in-demand skills Participate in CUNY-wide training and events and utilize common tools deployed across the initiative. Data Entry, Outcome Tracking, and Reporting: ? Enter data accurately and consistently into databases (i.e. Power BI, Sharepoint, and Microsoft Dynamics) ? Use full Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, to facilitate, manage, track, and report on program outcome metrics ? Conduct, manage, and evaluate events via Zoom (or a similar platform) including creating registration, engaging participants during the workshop, and analyzing post-session attendance and other data QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree and four years' related experience required. The minimum requirements for this position are a bachelor's degree and four years of professional work experience. We seek motivated, flexible and resourceful people who can gain the confidence of others in an advising environment and execute successful programs. Candidates will have: ? Experience in career services, economic or workforce development, or relationship management ? Experience with community and business outreach, ideally in implementing talent acquisition, outreach strategies, and business development ? Understanding of business and recruitment and hiring practices in key sectors of the NYC economy and understanding of the occupational landscape for college students with a social sciences background ? Skilled in of Microsoft Suite and Zoom commands and shortcuts. ? Comfort with technology to track programs and projects. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

CUNY TITLE Higher Education Assistant FLSA Exempt COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS Salary commensurate with education and experience: $98,995 - $109,025.
