Education: Must-Haves for a Director of Professional Development: 1. Relentless Visibility & Rounding Discipline Daily or weekly purposeful rounding, attending huddles, proactive check-ins, and visible follow‑through. 2. Clinical Credibility & Skill Relevance Active knowledge of standards, evidence-based practice, and hands‑on presence with clinical teams. 3. Strong Relationships With Unit Leadership Monthly 1:1s, co-owned priorities, and collaborative education planning. 4. Measurable, Meaningful Results Dashboards, quarterly reports, rapid orientation improvements, and quick wins. 5. A Culture of Responsiveness 24–48 hr response expectations, SLAs, centralized communication, and feedback loops. 6. High-Quality Education Delivery Standardized content, simulation expertise, interactive facilitation, and gap-based design. 7. Partnership Mindset Solution-oriented language, co-development of processes, and supportive approaches. 8. Psychological Safety & Approachability Open, non-defensive posture, feedback seeking, and respect-driven dialogue. 9. Alignment With CNO & Organizational Strategy Direct tie-in to hospital goals, frequent executive updates, and strategic communication. 10.
