Under general supervision, assures food, chemicals, equipment, supplements and supplies for Food and Nutrition Services and ordered, stocked and inventoried. Prepares requisitions for all areas of the department to replenish stock timely, efficiently and accurately. Communicates supply shortages and substitutions timely and effectively. Compiles and maintains records of food use and expenditures and ensures quality control. Follows and implements HACCP guidelines. Complies with regulatory agency requirements. Assumes responsibility in the absence of Stockroom Supervisor.
Essential Functions: - Receives, unpacks, and inspects all deliveries for damaged product, wholesomeness, and accuracy. Immediately reports discrepancies to supervisor or manager. (30%)
- Moves shipment to stock, organizes and stores in appropriate bins, shelf areas, and /or freezers and refrigerators. Helps assure that Food Service supplies are properly rotated, and soon-to-expire product removed in accordance with Food Service policy. (20%)
- Prepare and deliver requisitions for all areas of the department to replenish stock timely, efficiently and accurately. (20%)
- Maintain accurately HACCP records, including receiving logs, temperature logs, and refrigerator/freezer temperature documentation. (10%)
- Maintains storeroom and loading dock cleanliness including sweeping, mopping, and routine deep cleaning of walk-in coolers and freezers. (10%)
- Maintain food and equipment inventories and keep inventory records. (5%)
- Oversees storeroom operations in supervisor’s absence. (5%)
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED required
Work Experience:
- Typically, two years in receiving, stocking, issuing and inventory record keeping required
Licenses: Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of inventory management, purchasing, or warehouse operations helpful but not required.
- Knowledge of safe food storage and handling techniques and HACCP guidelines.
- Knowledge of and/or ability to learn safety hazards and necessary safety precautions sufficient to be able to establish a safe work environment.
- Knowledge of and/or ability to learn chemicals and equipment used to clean surface areas sufficient to be able to maintain a clean and orderly work area.
- Skill in organizing, planning, and prioritizing work.
- Skill in analyzing and resolving problems related to the work assignment.
- Knowledge and computer skills to access and process information.
