![]() Adjunct - AY26 Vocational Education, Unmanned Aircraft Systems Arrial Drone and Spatial Imaging NC PROFESSIONAL OPPORTUNITIES Adjunct - AY26 VOCATIONAL EDUCATION, Vocational Education Instructor (Noncredit) | Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) Aerial Drone and Spatial Imaging PART-TIME POSITION - POOL ANNOUNCEMENT Begin: Fall 2026 Semester Application Deadline: Open Until Filled The Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD) is the largest community college district in the United States and one of the largest in the world. The LACCD is comprised of nine colleges serving all or part of more than 40 cities in Southern California and spanning a service area of 882 square miles. Its colleges offer instruction to 225,000 students annually in 600 associate degree and 400 certificate of achievement programs in general, career-technical and transfer education, contributing significantly to the economic and social well-being of its students, the regional economy, and the greater Los Angeles area. POSITION The LACCD seeks a part-time, hourly (adjunct) instructor to teach noncredit vocational courses in Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) and Aerial Imaging. The instructor will provide both classroom and hands-on field training on topics such as manual drone operation, GPS-enabled autonomous flight, Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Part 107 Remote Pilot test preparation, aerial photography, and photogrammetry. Courses use industry-standard techniques to give students practical experience in capturing and processing aerial and spatial images. The goal is to prepare students for safe drone operations and entry-level careers in the UAS, aerial, and spatial imaging industry. Qualified applicants may be offered an interview with Noncredit Education Department members at one or more of LACCD's nine colleges. Final determinations of part-time Noncredit Instructor assignments are contingent upon enrollment, funding, and class availability. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS: A medical certificate indicating fitness to engage in administrative work is required for new employees at the applicant's expense prior to employment. ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENT - COVID-19 VACCINATION Pursuant to LACCD Board of Trustees Policy 2900, all students and employees must be fully vaccinated or have an approved exemption. LACCD employees are required to provide vaccination status in compliance with Board policy. Newly hired employees must provide vaccination status prior to starting a position or, at the latest, by their position start date. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Note: The professional experience required must be directly related to the teaching assignment. Qualifications Successful applicants will be able to provide a Verification of Employment letter from a current or previous employer that substantiates industry or professional knowledge, skills, and abilities in one or more of the following areas: Education & Experience: Meet the LACCD minimum qualifications for noncredit vocational instructors. These qualifications require either a bachelor's degree or higher, two years of full-time-equivalent professional experience directly related to the teaching assignment, or an associate's degree and six years of professional experience directly related to the teaching assignment. (Relevant fields include unmanned aircraft systems, aviation, aeronautics, geospatial science, photography, or other disciplines where drones and aerial imaging are applied. Professional experience should include work in drone operations, aerial photography/videography, photogrammetry, GIS mapping, or related industries.) Desired Qualifications Verification of Experience (VOE) Letters must be on company letterhead stationery indicating: Dates of employment; Position title; Whether experience was full-time or part-time (if part-time, indicate weekly percentage or hours worked); Description of related duties performed. Duties and Responsibilities REMOTE LEARNING Faculty may be required to conduct classes in a virtual learning environment using Canvas, hybrid, or hyflex modalities to support remote learning. Applicants with demonstrated certification in Canvas or other online instructional modalities may be given preference. COMPENSATION The salary schedule for adjunct noncredit instructors begins at $81.81 per standard hour.
