| Quick Leonard Kieffer has been retained by Haxtun Health based in Haxtun, CO to recruit its next Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Reporting to the CEO, the CFO is responsible for the financial operations of the organization. Organization: Haxtun Health promotes optimum wellness through compassionate and high-quality care. The organization is a nonprofit hospital district governed by an elected five member board. Haxtun Health provides care in it's 25-bed critical access hospital, primary care clinics, extended care, rehabilitation, and specialty care. The organizaton employs four primary care, three emergency, one mental health, and nine specialty care providers to include one general surgeon. Haxtun Health operates two certified rural health clinics, one in Haxtun the other in Fleming. The organization officially opened the Haxtun Health Clinic on main street in 2025 - the new facility features a retail pharmacy, grab and go health meals station, outpatient rehabilitation, and a primary care clinic. The Community: Haxtun, CO, is a community of 1000 located in Phillips County which has approximately 4500 residents. From 2010 to 2020 the population grew by 3.7%. Haxtun is located 32 miles from Sterling (pop. 13735), and approximately two hours from Denver, CO. The communities backbone is agriculture and athletics. The Haxtun School District has won the past two state football championships, won state track and field and finished state runner up in baseball last year. In May 2026 the Haxtun School District broke ground on a $25 million dollar construction project which will bring major renovations and additions to the district's PK-12 school facilities over the next two years.

The Role: The CFO is an executive leader accountable for the financial integrity, strategic capital growth, revenue optimization, and long-term fiscal viability of Haxtun Health. Serving as a strategic partner to the CEO and Board of Directors, the CFO provides enterprise-level financial leadership with responsibility for governance, financial audits, reimbursement strategy, Revenue Cycle performance, enterprise risk management, and organizational sustainability. The CFO provides strategic and operational oversight of Revenue Cycle, Accounting/Finance, Purchasing, and Accounts Payable/Payroll functions, ensuring strong financial controls, reimbursement optimization, cash flow stability, and compliance with public-sector and healthcare regulatory requirements. Ideal qualifications: Ideal candidates for this position will hold a bachelors degree in accounting, finance, or business administration with a minimum of five years of progressive financial leadership experience in healthcare.
