| Description: The Department of Visual and Performing Arts invites applications for Part-Time Instructors for Fall 2026. Part-Time Instructors are hired on a semester-by-semester basis to teach courses in Theatre and Visual Arts. The successful candidate is expected to teach introductory courses in Theatre. Responsibilities include teaching face-to-face courses such as Acting for Non-Theatre Majors, and other courses as needed, attending training and/or review sessions, and contributing to a collaborative departmental environment. The candidate will be expected to work cooperatively with faculty and staff in the department and university. Primary Function of Organizational Unit: The mission of the Theatre Arts Program is to provide excellent educational opportunities, culturally enriching activities, diverse and life-changing artistic experiences for our students, the North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University campus community, Greater Greensboro, and the N.C. Triad Region. The Theatre Arts Program is ranked the No. 1 theatre program among HBCUs in North Carolina, and out of 34 HBCUs with theatre programs in the U.S., the program is ranked #3 in the nation, according to HBCU-Colleges.com. Bachelor of Fine Arts in Professional Theatre and Dance: · B.F.A. – Professional Theatre (Acting) · B.F.A. – Professional Theatre (Theatre Technology) · Minor – Professional Theatre Minor – Dance Requirements: An MFA in Theatre Arts or a closely related field from an accredited institution is required. Preferred: Prior college-level teaching experience and expertise in one or more areas within Theatre.
