![]() University of California Los Angeles Requisition Number: JPF11045 The UCLA Institute for Precision Health and the Division of Clinical Genetics in the Department of Human Genetics are seeking a Genetic Counselor with experience in genomic and clinical research for a Health Sciences Assistant Clinical Professor faculty appointment. The role combines clinical genetic counseling expertise with responsibilities supporting the coordination and implementation of genomic research for Precision Health initiatives, including industry-sponsored collaborations. We seek ABGC board certified and Licensed Genetic Counselor candidates who are enthusiastic about engaging in academically productive scientific inquiry, educating genetic counseling students and serving the university community. Academic appointment level and track series will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The selected candidate will join an established multidisciplinary team with expertise in clinical genetics, genomic medicine, and precision health. The role offers opportunities for clinical practice, academic engagement, research collaboration, and teaching within a dynamic academic environment. The Division of Clinical Genetics host an ABMGG-accredited Medical Genetics residency, a T32 training grant, a Masters in Genetic Counseling program, and multiple ABMGG-accredited Laboratory Genetics training programs. Opportunities are available for clinical research, clinical trials, and collaboration with basic science researchers. Faculty members have numerous opportunities for teaching across a variety of academic programs. Teaching and supervising of medical students, residents, fellows, and genetic counseling trainees are expected. In addition to clinical and teaching responsibilities, this position includes a significant coordination and project management component supporting complex genomic research initiatives. The individual will work closely with faculty and staff leadership in the Institute for Precision Health and operational teams to ensure successful execution of projects aligned with institutional goals.
