Behavioral Health Therapist - Independence Center

• Shift - Monday through Thursday 830 am-5 pm & Friday 8 am- 2 pm
• This position is a full time therapist in a small office with psychiatry and therapy
• Working with Adults only ages 18 and older
• Team dynamic: We have 2 Therapists , plus Nurse Practitioners, RNs, LPNs and Psychiatrists currently that are part of the Independence Center Clinic-which is in the lower level of Independence Center and they will conduct 1:1 sessions and possible group sessions
• Location:  BJC Independence Center (on-site only)
• Ideal Skill Set:  Preference would be to have Therapy experience and trained in an evidence-based practice like CBT, DBT, Trauma-Focused CBT, EMDR, etc.
• Compassion for working with Adults to help them better their life, flexible, able to document timely, ability to adapt to change, willing to work in a team setting is a MUST
• Job responsibilities:  This position will provide Therapy to Adult clients.  The severity of issues that clients will have, will vary in type and acuity - we work with serious and persistent mental illness

BJC Behavioral Health is a community health center that provides and coordinates behavioral health services for more than 8,000 seriously mentally ill adults and seriously emotionally disturbed children in St. Louis City, St. Louis County, St. François, Iron and Washington counties.  As an Administrative Agent of the Missouri Department of Mental Health (DMH), BJC Behavioral Health serves as a major point of entry for people eligible for mental health services funded by DMH and is responsible for serving as gatekeeper to the public mental health system.  

Role Purpose

The Behavioral Health Therapist works with individuals, families, and groups to address and treat mental & emotional disorders, and to promote optimal mental health.
