Director Undergraduate Clinical Affairs

The Director of Undergraduate Clinical Affairs oversees the operations of the Clinical Affairs department, partnering with the Associate Dean to ensure high-quality clinical education experiences. This role oversees clinical documentation and tracking, supports Clerkship Directors, ensures compliance with academic and regulatory standards, and supervises the Clerkship Coordinator team. The Director serves as a liaison within DMU and with students, clinical partners, and accreditation agencies, reporting to the Associate Dean for Clinical Affairs.

What you’ll do:

• Ensure students receive high-quality clinical education experiences that meet curricular and graduation requirements.
• Lead and supervise the Clerkship Coordinator team, overseeing daily operations and student communications.
• Oversee clinical scheduling processes, including third- and fourth-year site placements and rotation planning.
• Monitor student outcomes and clinical experiences, using data to drive continuous quality improvement.
• Ensure compliance with university policies, accreditation standards (COCA), and regulatory requirements.
• Serve as a key liaison, collaborating with internal departments and external clinical partners to support program operations and site quality.

What we are looking for:

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, Business or Business Administration, Health Care Administration, Education, or related field required. A related master’s degree preferred.
• Two years of Healthcare Administration, Financial Administration experience, or Clinical Affairs office experience in a health sciences institution.
• One year of supervisory experience required.
• Knowledge of medical education processes, healthcare systems, and accreditation standards preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills, with the ability to analyze data, improve processes, and collaborate effectively across stakeholders.
• Ability to travel locally and nationally up to 40% as required; valid driver’s license required.

Total Rewards:

The anticipated salary range for this position is $98,000-$103,000, commensurate with experience. Placement within the range will depend on experience, qualifications, and alignment with role requirements.
