| Job Description FOR USE BY IT AND HSIS ONLY: To assist with the administration of the purchase and inventory system. To update and administer asset databases and the tracking life cycle of all assets. To receive and manage inventory and ensure security of assets while in inventory. To maintain and manage supplier records, service level agreements, and software license information. To assist in the update and development of enterprise wide IT purchasing standards and procedures. To assist in receiving new equipment/software requests and in monitoring procurement and deployment activities. To assist in verifying financial data and monitoring and reconciling changes in inventory and performing spot checks to ensure process and system quality. Performs other duties as assigned. This position will commit to fostering an environment of heightened security following Information Technology Security Policies and participating in security training, such as Health Insurance Portability & Accountability Act (HIPAA) and Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), on an annual basis. RESPONSIBILITIES: Must have proven ability to manage inventory and ordering processes for large quantities of materials and equipment. Must be able to ensure accuracy of materials being ordered to ensure correct make and model numbers of vendor equipment so that it meets the UAB equipment needs being purchased. Must have experience in placing and tracking large quantity equipment orders. Candidates must have the ability to establish great rapport with existing vendors, build strong relationships with new vendors, and maintain relationships with various UAB departments. (Annual Salary: $60,835 - $67,244) Qualifications Associate's degree in Information Systems or a related field and four (4) years of related experience required. Work experience may substitute for education requirement. The ideal candidate must be able to operate with a high degree of integrity towards external vendors and internal stakeholders at all times.
