Specific Responsibilities

Prophylactic Care: Apply protective equipment, taping, and bracing to support injured athletes and prevent further injury.

Clinical Environment: Maintain a high-standard collegiate clinical setting conducive to the successful healthcare management of a diverse athletic population.

Medical Documentation: Maintain meticulous electronic health records, including injury reports, daily treatment logs, and rehabilitation progress notes in compliance with HIPAA/FERPA.

Pre-Participation: Oversee the organization of pre-season physicals and the collection of mandatory pre-participation medical paperwork.

Facility Oversight: Assist in managing the daily operations, maintenance, and upkeep of the athletic training room

Inventory: Assist with supply inventory &#38; equipment maintenance.

Liaison Services: Act as a primary point of contact between student-athletes and coaches regarding injury status and return-to-play protocols.

Team Coverage: Manage primary sport assignments as designated by the Director of Sports Medicine, including comprehensive coverage for practices, home events, and team travel.

Drug Testing: Assist with the coordination and execution of institutional and NCAA drug-testing procedures.

Event Management: Provide athletic training services for university-hosted events and external rentals as requested.

Compliance &#38; Ethics: Maintain strict adherence to the philosophy and objectives of the Athletics Department, Adams State University, the RMAC, and NCAA regulations.

Professional Development: Maintain BOC certification in good standing and pursue continuing education to remain current with sports medicine best practices.

A newly renovated commercial kitchen and classroom with 20 food prep stations provides a place for students to engage in experiential learning opportunities on campus. Internships and coursework promote experiential learning in the community. The coordinator role includes outreach and engagement with local and regional high schools, collaboration with local foods organizations, and oversight of the Food Studies kitchen and classroom.&#xa0; The Food Studies program is housed within the School of Health Sciences.&#xa0;

 Adams State University is a state-supported, regional comprehensive university located in the San Luis Valley of Southern Colorado and the city of Alamosa. As the state&#8217;s premier Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI) and a Minority Serving Institution (MSI), over 50 percent of its undergraduate students represent racially diverse backgrounds.
