Specific Responsibilities

Comprehensive Healthcare: Provide injury evaluation, prevention strategies, emergency care, and personalized rehabilitation programs for intercollegiate student-athletes.

Prophylactic Care: Apply protective equipment, taping, and bracing to support injured athletes and prevent further injury.

Clinical Environment: Maintain a high-standard collegiate clinical setting conducive to the successful healthcare management of a diverse athletic population.

Medical Documentation: Maintain meticulous electronic health records, including injury reports, daily treatment logs, and rehabilitation progress notes in compliance with HIPAA/FERPA.

Pre-Participation: Oversee the organization of pre-season physicals and the collection of mandatory pre-participation medical paperwork.

Facility Oversight: Assist in managing the daily operations, maintenance, and upkeep of the athletic training room

Inventory: Assist with supply inventory &#38; equipment maintenance.

Liaison Services: Act as a primary point of contact between student-athletes and coaches regarding injury status and return-to-play protocols.

Team Coverage: Manage primary sport assignments as designated by the Director of Sports Medicine, including comprehensive coverage for practices, home events, and team travel.

Drug Testing: Assist with the coordination and execution of institutional and NCAA drug-testing procedures.

Event Management: Provide athletic training services for university-hosted events and external rentals as requested.

Compliance &#38; Ethics: Maintain strict adherence to the philosophy and objectives of the Athletics Department, Adams State University, the RMAC, and NCAA regulations.

Professional Development: Maintain BOC certification in good standing and pursue continuing education to remain current with sports medicine best practices. Qualifications

 Provides tactical and operational support for all Athletic Training functions&#xa0; 
 
 
 Oversee and supervision of all work study students including approving hours, scheduling and ensuring work study are following all rules and assignments&#xa0;

 Recommend, fit and apply braces, splints and assistive devices to facilitate the patient recovery.&#xa0; 
 
 
 Assess the patient&#39;s functional status, interpret the results and determine ability to return to activity.&#xa0; 
 
 
 Recognize the role of medications in the recovery process. Provide patient education necessary to facilitate recovery. 
 
 
 Perform a comprehensive examination of the patient with an orthopedic injury or medical condition (e.g., medical history, physical examination, differential diagnosis, and referral).&#xa0; 
 
 
 Communicate the nature of examination and treatment plan to patient and other involved health care personnel, respecting the privacy of the patient.&#xa0; 
 
 
 &#xa0;Obtain and interpret environmental (e.g., ambient temperature, relative humidity, heat index, lightning) and patient data (e.g., hydration status) to make appropriate recommendations for patient safety and the continuance or suspension of activity.&#xa0; 
 
 
 Inspect facilities to ensure they are free of hazards, are sanitary, and that equipment is maintained&#xa0;properly.&#xa0;&#xa0; 
 
 
 Educate and train coaches and administrators on the Emergency Action Plan. Provide mental health education for prevention and care. Assist the athletic department administration in Alcohol, Smoking, and Other Drug (ATOD) education for student-athletes. 
 
 
 &#xa0;Implement appropriate emergency injury and illness management strategies following a pre-established emergency action plan (e.g., CPR, AED, splinting, use of spine board, control of bleeding, control of body temperature, use of epinephrine for anaphylaxis, etc.).&#xa0;

 Maintain&#xa0;strict adherence to the philosophy and objectives of the Athletics Department, Adams State University, the RMAC, and NCAA regulations.

 Master&#8217;s degree in Athletic Training&#xa0; from an accredited institution of higher education&#xa0; 
 
 
 Minimum of 2 years of professional athletic training experience, with a strong preference for candidates who have managed collegiate-level programs or specific team operations.&#xa0; 
 
 
 Certification and good standing with the National Athletic Trainer&#8217;s Board of Certification.

Specific Responsibilities

Assistant Director Duties

Under the guidance of the Director, communicate regularly with Coaches and Athletics staff regarding scheduling, AT hours, injury reports, travel, coverage, etc. 

With the Director, establish and maintain work schedules, coordinate staff meetings, and establish priority of daily and weekly tasks. 

Supervision of  interns/GA&#8217;s and Part time Athletic Trainers, including communicating  expectations and the evaluation of performance. 

Serve as the primary administrator for the DrugFree Sport program, managing scheduling, collection protocols, and educational outreach.

Assist in the recruiting, hiring, training, and formal evaluation of assistant athletic trainers, graduate assistants, and student interns.

Provides tactical and operational support for all Athletic Training functions 

Oversee and supervision of all work study students including approving hours, scheduling and ensuring work study are following all rules and assignments 

Use electronic medical records system to log all injuries, treatments, and pertinent information (EMR Teamworks)  point person for medical information software 

Responsible for purchase of and inventory of all ATR supplies and equipment

Oversight of department wide trainings and compliance, including Blood borne pathogens training, CPR training, EAPs, etc.

Athletic Trainer Duties

Recommend, fit and apply braces, splints and assistive devices to facilitate the patient recovery. 

Assess the patient&#39;s functional status, interpret the results and determine ability to return to activity. 

Recognize the role of medications in the recovery process. Provide patient education necessary to facilitate recovery.

Perform a comprehensive examination of the patient with an orthopedic injury or medical condition (e.g., medical history, physical examination, differential diagnosis, and referral). 

Communicate the nature of examination and treatment plan to patient and other involved health care personnel, respecting the privacy of the patient. 

 Obtain and interpret environmental (e.g., ambient temperature, relative humidity, heat index, lightning) and patient data (e.g., hydration status) to make appropriate recommendations for patient safety and the continuance or suspension of activity. 

Inspect facilities to ensure they are free of hazards, are sanitary, and that equipment is maintained properly.  

Educate and train coaches and administrators on the Emergency Action Plan. Provide mental health education for prevention and care. Assist the athletic department administration in Alcohol, Smoking, and Other Drug (ATOD) education for student-athletes.

 Implement appropriate emergency injury and illness management strategies following a pre-established emergency action plan (e.g., CPR, AED, splinting, use of spine board, control of bleeding, control of body temperature, use of epinephrine for anaphylaxis, etc.). 

Sport coverage oversight and game coverage

Injury management of athletes

Maintain strict adherence to the philosophy and objectives of the Athletics Department, Adams State University, the RMAC, and NCAA regulations.

Maintain BOC certification in good standing and pursue continuing education to remain current with sports medicine best practices.

Qualifications

Ability to perform the requirements of the position.

Master&#8217;s degree in Athletic Training  from an accredited institution of higher education 

Minimum of 2 years of professional athletic training experience, with a strong preference for candidates who have managed collegiate-level programs or specific team operations. 

Certification and good standing with the National Athletic Trainer&#8217;s Board of Certification.

Eligible for licensure or current license for the state of Colorado 

Sensitivity and discretion regarding student-athlete issues

Demonstrated experience in sports medicine administration, including the use of Electronic Medical Records (EMR), inventory management, and departmental scheduling. 

Advanced proficiency in professional software suites (Google Workspace) and specialized sports medicine data platforms. 

Proven ability to work independently, prioritize, and complete tasks in a timely manner.

Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written  communication skills with the ability to tailor communication to both internal and external stakeholders.

 Serve as the main point of contact for local, regional, and national media outlets. 
 
 
 Act as the official representative to the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) and the NCAA, ensuring timely submission of schedules, results, and award nominations. 
 
 
 Proactively solicit and promote student-athlete honors (All-American, All-Conference, Academic awards) to elevate the department&#39;s prestige. 
 
 
 Maintain accurate historical records, statistics, and files for all 20 varsity sports.

 Digital Media &#38; Content Creation 
 
 
 Direct the daily operations of asugrizzlies.com, including roster management, coach/player bios, and real-time score updates. 
 
 
 Curate and execute a high-impact social media strategy across all platforms to drive engagement and brand loyalty. 
 
 
 Oversee the creative direction of live video streaming (Hudl/RMAC Network) and produce high-quality promotional content, including highlight videos and student-athlete &quot;spotlight&quot; features. 
 
 
 Manage advertising and promotional graphics for the Grizzly Club, including digital signage, virtual event assets, and website partner logos. 
 
 
 &#xa0; 
 Game Day &#38; Event Operations 
 
 
 Attend all home contests to oversee press facilities, host visiting media, and oversee&#xa0;scoreboard/Daktronics&#xa0;operations. 
 
 
 Serve as the primary official statistician for all home events, ensuring accurate reporting to the NCAA and RMAC. 
 
 
 Produce professional game programs, previews, recaps, and statistical reports for every athletic event. 
 
 
 Lead communication and operational efforts for the annual Hall of Fame Ceremony, Grizzly awards and assist with Grizzly Club donor events.

 Leadership &#38; Administration 
 
 
 Recruit, train, and supervise interns and work-study students; manage time sheet approval through Workday. 
 
 
 Cultivate positive relationships with Adams State Alumni and Grizzly Club members to support the long-term success of the athletic department. 
 
 
 Assist the senior athletic administrative staff with general office duties and other projects as assigned.

 Qualifications 
 
 
 Bachelor&#8217;s degree in Communications, Journalism, Sports Management, or a related field. 
 
 
 Proven professional experience in a Sports Information or Athletic Communications office. 
 
 
 Mastery of live-statting software (NCAA LiveStats/Genius), Daktronics systems, and the Hudl broadcast suite. 
 
 
 Proficiency in StatCrew, Genius Sports, and Presto Sports for live-game statistical entry. 
 
 
 Proficiency in the Adobe Creative Suite, with an emphasis on Photoshop (graphics), InDesign (layout), and Premiere Pro (video editing). 
 
 
 Experience managing and updating an athletic department website via a CMS (e.g., SIDEARM Sports). 
 
 
 Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Premiere) and website CMS platforms (e.g., SIDEARM Sports). 
 
 
 Operational knowledge of Hudl, Blue Frame Production Truck, vMix, or OBS for live-stream execution.

 Utilize best practices and innovative approaches to inspire ongoing donor engagement and maximize annual revenue.

 Fundraising Campaigns and Donor Engagement 
 
 Design and conduct mass solicitation programs via direct mail, email, social media and online giving. Ensure gifts of this nature are renewed; implement monthly giving and mid-level donor programs. 
 Conduct the annual student Phonathon, including collecting donations, database updates, solicitation scripts, weekly results reports, and following up on donor questions/issues raised during the calling process. 
 Coordinate the execution of annual giving day events (Adams State Giving Week, Giving Tuesday, Colorado Gives Day), providing strategic oversight of goal setting, planning and implementation processes.

 Collaboration and Coordination 
 
 Collaborate closely with the Vice President of Advancement, Foundation Executive Director, and Athletic Director on annual giving initiatives. 
 Work with University-wide units including academic departments, athletics, and marketing and communications to coordinate annual giving efforts. 
 Collaborate with the Foundation Manager of Operations to maintain a comprehensive donor database to track giving history, preferences, and engagement activities.

This position is for a generalist in the eight CACREP core areas and five doctoral CACREP areas, as well as the CACREP specialties in clinical mental health counseling, school counseling, and Ph.D. in CES. Responsibilities will include teaching a broad range of courses in the on-campus, and online Masters and Ph.D. programs. Travel, evening, and online course delivery are required.  Conducts regular coaching, training, and observing sessions with Admissions Counselor and Transfer Coordinator in the field 
 
 
 Ensures all recruitment and admissions training programs are executed and implemented 
 
 
 Coordinates, schedules, and promotes all recruitment events including but not limited to college fairs, high school presentations, counselor&#xa0;breakfasts/luncheons,&#xa0;application days, financial aid nights, registration activities (Grizz Bizz), student receptions, and campus visits.&#xa0;&#xa0;
