CONTRACT TITLE    Custodial Assistant    FLSA    Non-exempt    CAMPUS SPECIFIC INFORMATION    Located in the heart of Harlem, the Graduate School of Public Health and Health Policy (CUNY SPH) is dedicated to providing cutting edge graduate degree programs and to designing, implementing, and evaluating public health initiatives that promote population health and social justice. CUNY SPH is currently seeking to hire (2) Custodial Assistants in the Facility Maintenance Operation department for the morning shift and the evening shift.    Reporting to the Facilities Planning Director, the Custodial Assistants will be responsible for the following:    Perform cleaning, waste disposal, maintenance, room set-up, light moving, and other facilities-related tasks.    Complete recurring tasks as written or assigned, such as floor, surface, appliance and equipment cleaning, readily without prompt.    Report cleanliness issues to supervisor, or other Facilities staff, when observed.    Report special requests for cleaning and maintenance to supervisor.    Communicate with faculty, staff, students, guests, building service professionals and third-party vendors in a courteous and respectful manner.    (1) Morning shift 8 AM to 6:30 PM, and (1) evening shift 10 AM to 8:30 PM.  Work shift hours may change due to the business needs of the school.    Preferred Qualifications:    2 or more years of custodial or related experience.    Experience using scrubbing machines, buffing machines, and other commercial cleaning equipment for vacuuming and cleaning rugs/carpets.    Experience cleaning and maintaining employee pantries, including replenishing supplies.    Experience dusting, mopping, and sweeping in offices, conference rooms, open workspaces, and classrooms.    Experience setting up rooms for meetings and events ranging from 12 to over 100 attendees.    Experience working in a diverse team setting, with a preference for experience in an educational vertical campus building.    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS    There are no formal education or experience requirements.    There are certain medical and physical requirements as established by University management.    COMPENSATION    New Hire: *$39,922    Incumbent: $41,163    *This amount reflects a salary suppression in effect for the first 24 months of employment only. Named for Byllye Yvone Avery, a trailblazer in advancing global sexual and reproductive justice through providing health care services, education and advocacy, the endowed professor will shape the next era of scholarship, training, and public engagement in sexual and reproductive justice at CUNY SPH.    The Endowed Professor will:    Provide visionary leadership in advancing research, teaching, and practice in sexual and reproductive justice.    Work closely with the Department Chair in coordinating the Master of Public Health Degree Concentration in Sexual and Reproductive Justice and Health.    Develop, expand, and sustain a nationally and internationally recognized research portfolio, including interdisciplinary, community-engaged, and policy-relevant scholarship.    Mentor faculty, postdoctoral fellows, and students, cultivating the next generation of sexual and reproductive justice scholars and practitioners. CUNY SPH is planning to move to the new state-of-the-art Science Park and Research Campus (SPARC) in Kips Bay in 2030. SPARC will serve as an educational, life sciences, health care and public health hub for Kips Bay, New York City, and the metropolitan region. It will expand opportunities for population health, clinical, and laboratory-based biomedical research, as well as for educational, training, practice, and service partnerships for SPH faculty, students, and staff.    CUNY SPH is seeking an experienced, dynamic leader with a proven track record in directing public health research to serve as the Senior Associate Dean for Research. Reporting to and in collaboration with the Dean, this individual will provide strategic leadership in promoting and expanding research endeavors.  They will have an opportunity for an underlying faculty appointment in one of the school?s four academic departments, relevant to their disciplinary expertise.    Key areas of responsibility include but are not limited to:    Leading the Office of Sponsored Projects and Research (SPaR), which includes pre- and post-award research support, assuring human subjects? protection and research compliance.    Developing and implementing a strategic plan for diversifying and expanding the school?s research portfolio and funding streams, in conformance with its mission, vision and values.    Assessing and optimizing the school?s research-related infrastructure, procedures, practices, and metrics.    Strategically diversifying, expanding, and stabilizing sources of research revenue to include governmental, corporate, philanthropic, and other sources, in collaboration with faculty, senior leadership, staff and students.    Leading efforts to design and implement a laboratory-based component to the school?s research and educational portfolio, including facility design, operations, training and education, and faculty and staff recruitment.    Negotiating to ensure the adequacy of research facilities and resources across the school?s research endeavors.    Formalizing collaborations and creating a network with existing research partners and new potential partners, such as in the public health, health care, and biomedical sectors.    Assuring that all aspects of research and research funding conform with the highest ethical standards and with the school?s mission, vision, and values.    Serving as the central point of contact and responsible party for internal and external research related inquiries, award administration, funding, effort certification and compliance requirements.    Providing oversight and support to the school?s centers and institutes in developing and implementing strategic plans to assure their continued stability, strategic growth, and success.    Building a culture of mentoring within the school and collaborating with faculty facilitators to lead a vibrant research mentorship program for faculty and doctoral students, including developing external funding streams for doctoral students.    Developing and overseeing the implementation of training and support for faculty, staff, and graduate students on research-related topics, such as through ad hoc training, seminars, and formal course offerings, as appropriate and necessary.    Collaborating with school leadership, faculty, staff and students on school wide events and activities that have a research and/or scholarly component.    QUALIFICATIONS    This position is in CUNY&#39;s Executive Compensation Plan.  All executive positions require a minimum of a Bachelor&#39;s degree and eight years&#39; related experience.    Preferred qualifications    The successful candidate will have:    A PhD, MD or other terminal degree in public health, medicine, biomedical sciences or a related field.    At least ten years of progressively responsible experience designing, leading and publishing research, securing research funding, and mentoring junior researchers in public health and/or related fields.    Experience developing and running a clinical and/or laboratory-based research program.    A proven track record of obtaining research grant funding from a diversity of governmental and non-governmental sources.    Demonstrated excellence in mentoring junior faculty and doctoral students in grantsmanship and research scholarship.    Expert knowledge of the funding landscape and established relationships with governmental, philanthropic and corporate funders.    An established network of local and national clinical, biomedical, and interdisciplinary public health research collaborators.    CUNY TITLE    Professional School Senior Associate Dean    COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS    $280,000 - $320,000    Salary commensurate with education and experience.
