 Position Summary 
 EnergyUnited is seeking a Distribution Designer to support the design and coordination of electric distribution projects across the Cornelius region. This role performs both administrative and technical duties and requires approximately 70% field work. The ideal candidate enjoys hands-on outdoor work, problem solving, and interacting directly with members, contractors, and community partners. 
 What You&#8217;ll Do 
 
 Design and prepare member line extensions that balance safety, reliability, and cost. 
 Create layouts for overhead and underground lines serving residential lots. 
 Design single-phase distribution lines in accordance with system specs, NESC requirements, and RUS standards. 
 Prepare work orders and staking sheets for new line construction and provide required information to operations staff. 
 Stake service drops, security lights, short extensions, and routinely work independently in the field. 
 Secure right-of-way easements while maintaining strong relationships with members and landowners. 
 Advise potential members on rates, service requirements, and technical considerations. 
 Coordinate services, simple primary extensions, and relocations with property owners, developers, and agencies. 
 Maintain mapping accuracy and ensure all revisions and updates are current. 
 Schedule locates through NC 811 and initiate pole transfers via NJUNS. 
 Assist with staking plans, easement acquisition, and coordination with utilities and government agencies. 
 Prepare required documentation for work order completion (UG agreements, SL contracts, space allocations). 
 
 Additional Responsibilities 
 
 Assist with design, coordination, and construction of engineering/operations projects. 
 Participate in safety and training programs. 
 Stay informed on construction, operations, and maintenance practices. 
 Investigate territorial issues and collaborate with other utilities as needed. 
 What You Bring 
 Education &#38; Experience 
 
 High school diploma or equivalent required. 
 ASET degree (Electric/Electronics Technology), engineering-related associate degree, or drafting experience preferred. 
 3 years or more of related experience preferred; field construction or distribution design experience highly desirable. 
 
 Knowledge &#38; Skills 
 
 Basic understanding of electric power distribution (preferred). 
 Familiarity with RUS construction standards (preferred). 
 Understanding of the National Electrical Safety Code (preferred). 
 Basic electrical theory and load analysis (preferred). 
 Computer proficiency required. 
 Must become a Notary Public in NC within one year of employment. 
 Valid NC driver&#8217;s license with a good driving record. 
 
 Working Conditions 
 
 Primarily outdoor field work in all weather conditions. 
 Routinely walk rough terrain, measure distances/angles, and place stakes. 
 Occasional use of a surveyor&#8217;s transit or laser. 
 Standard hours: M-F 7:30 AM &#8211; 4:00 PM, with some irregular hours required. 
 Required to respond during major outages and storms. 
 Exposure to weather extremes, traffic, rough terrain, slippery conditions, and electrical hazards. 
 This operational position requires living within a 25-mile radius of the Cornelius, NC EnergyUnited office.

 EnergyUnited is seeking an experienced&#xa0; Accounting Manager &#xa0;to lead and oversee daily accounting operations within our Financial Services team. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and strong internal controls while supporting the Cooperative&#8217;s mission and financial stability. 
 The ideal candidate is a hands-on accounting leader with strong technical expertise, supervisory experience, and a commitment to accuracy, compliance, and continuous improvement. 
 
 Key Responsibilities 
 
 Lead and supervise Accounting staff, including Accounts Payable, Payroll, Purchasing, General Ledger, and Cost Accounting 
 Oversee month-end and year-end close processes and preparation of financial statements 
 Ensure compliance with&#xa0; GAAP &#xa0;and&#xa0; RUS (Rural Utilities Service) &#xa0;accounting requirements 
 Prepare and review monthly balance sheet account analyses and financial reports 
 Develop and support the annual electric budget and ongoing budget monitoring 
 Perform budget variance analysis for operating and capital expenditures 
 Coordinate and support external audits (RUS, FEMA, insurance, and annual financial audit) 
 Prepare and submit RUS/CFC loan applications and manage related documentation 
 Maintain banking relationships and oversee banking service costs 
 Support preparation of required regulatory and government financial reporting 
 Assist the CFO with financial planning, analysis, and special projects 
 Serve as liaison for accounting systems, software, and data extraction initiatives 
 Required Qualifications 
 
 Bachelor&#8217;s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Computer Science, or related field (advanced degree preferred) 
 Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience 
 Prior supervisory or management experience required 
 Strong understanding of&#xa0; GAAP &#xa0;and financial reporting standards 
 Experience with month-end and year-end close processes 
 Proven ability to manage budgets, forecasts, and financial reporting 
 
 Additional Requirements 
 
 Completion of RUS Borrowers&#8217; Accounting Course (willingness to complete after hire, if applicable) 
 Strong analytical, organizational, and leadership skills

 Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 
 
 Conduct monthly crew observations of Operations personnel performing high-risk work activities. 
 Inspect work locations, tools, vehicles, equipment, including warehouses and Pole yards. 
 Assess work areas for safety hazards. 
 Provide inspection data to the Safety Manager for analysis. 
 Assist the Safety Manager in identifying and conducting safety training. 
 Assess Cooperative compliance with applicable regulations. 
 Recommend changes needed to improve the safety of all departments. 
 Prepare and submit purchase requisitions for materials and supplies. 
 Monitor changes in regulatory requirements and take appropriate actions to stay compliant. 
 Assist managers with safety meeting information requests and discussions.

 Assist the Safety Manager with Investigations when any event requires further information and analysis. 
 Assess cooperative training needs, recommend and develop appropriate training programs. 
 Maintain records of training. 
 Maintain the required credentials to conduct safety training. 
 Organize and provide training for DOT requirements. 
 Assist HR in maintaining CDL driver qualification files.

 Other Duties and Responsibilities: 
 
 Assist HR and the Safety Manager in administering and maintaining EnergyUnited&#8217;s Worker&#8217;s Compensation program.

 Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

 Training in electric power transmission and distribution line construction and maintenance. 
 A valid NC Driver&#8217;s license with a good driving record. 
 Journeyman Lineman experience is highly desirable.&#xa0; 
 Experience in planning, directing programs and evaluating results. 
 Must have working knowledge of the safety codes, standards and regulations (such as, but not limited to, the National Electric Safety Code &#8211; NESC; Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration &#8211; FMSCA, and Occupational Safety and Health Administration - OSHA Regulations).&#xa0;
