Under supervision and/or direction, manage the daily operations of a campus financial aid office which includes supervising, training, and scheduling staff. The work consists of administrative, professional, technical, and supervisory activities that involve the oversight of financial aid programs, systems and services to ensure that these perform as intended. Decisions require the incumbent to apply technical criteria, rules, and policies and procedures to situations. Contacts are with college administrators, faculty, staff, students and their families/representatives, and representatives of external entities such as financial aid professionals from other colleges and universities, and representatives of the Department of Education and state agencies. Verbal and written communications involve seeking, explaining, presenting, defending, justifying, negotiating, and settling significant issues.
