The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, an eye for detail, and a deep understanding of coaching, training, and program development. This position is a full year (12 months), full time, benefits eligible position.&#xa0;

 Essential Duties and Responsibilities  include, but are not limited to, the following:&#xa0; 
 
 Athletics and Explorations: Oversee the administration and implementation of both  traditional/non traditional sports and diverse co-curricular &quot;exploratory&quot; programs . Evaluate the effectiveness of current offerings and recommend new programs based on student interest and school mission. 
 &#xa0;Scheduling &#38; Operations: Establish equitable practice and game schedules for all sports, coordinating facility use to avoid academic conflicts. 
 Logistics &#38; Transportation: Coordinate team transportation and secure game officials, scorekeepers, and event staff. Coordinate all aspects of explorations. 
 Budget &#38; Procurement: Oversee the athletic/exploration budget, manage equipment and uniform inventories, and lead the procurement of new supplies. 
 Student Support &#38; Compliance/Safety: Coordinate league application process for NEIA. Ensure all programs meet state and league regulations (e.g.,  NEPSAC  or  NIAAA ), and oversee student-athlete eligibility and medical clearances. Ensure all programs comply with school policies, state athletic regulations, and safety standards. 
 Staff Supervision: Work with the Dean of Student Life to ensure all coaching responsibilities are met for teachers. If needed, recruit, hire, onboard, and evaluate adjunct coaches, ensuring they align with the school&#8217;s mission. Ensure certification and safety requirements are met. 
 Head Coaching: Serve as the head coach for at least two athletic seasons (e.g., basketball, or lacrosse). 
 Student-Athlete Development: Monitor the academic progress and general well-being of student-athletes, serving as a mentor and advocate. 
 Schedule: Standard school hours with significant after-school, evening, and occasional weekend commitments for games and events. 
 Community Engagement Liaison Role:  Act as the primary liaison between coaches, parents, students, and administration as it relates to athletics and explorations.  Be the main contact for visiting schools and the Admissions department to promote the school&#8217;s athletic programs.  Partner with Marketing &#38; Communications to promote program accomplishments through school newsletters and social media.  
 Event Management: Oversee the setup and post-event procedures for all on-campus athletic events and explorations. 
 Summer Programs: Partner with summer program leadership during summer months to support NEIA summer programs, camps and related activities as needed. 
 
 Supervisory Responsibilities 
 
 The Athletics &#38; Explorations Coordinator supervises coaching and athletic staff at NEIA. 
 Education and/or Experience:&#xa0; 
 
 Education: Bachelor&#8217;s degree in Physical Education, Sports Management, or a related field (Master&#8217;s preferred). 
 A minimum of 3 years of experience in coaching or athletic administration, ideally within an independent school environment. 
 Proficiency in student information systems (e.g., Blackbaud),  athletic scheduling software and budget management highly desired. 
 CPR/AED/First Aid  certification required. 
 
 Qualifications 
 
 Strong planning and organizational skills for multi-tasking and prioritizing responsibilities as situations arise in a fast paced environment.

 New England Innovation Academy seeks a full time Innovation Studio Teacher for the 2026-27 academic year. Full-time faculty teach four sections in Upper School, Middle School, or a mixture of both divisions with two or three different course preparations, participate in coaching two sports/activities or the equivalent, and serve as an advisor. Teachers also collaborate and innovate with colleagues across different curricular areas and divisions, and attend weekly staff meetings for subject areas and divisions.&#xa0; 
 The Innovation Studio Teacher inspires, instructs, and develops middle and high school students&#8217; passions and curiosities, and will teach students integrated design, using human-centered design as a fundamental process to develop students&#8217; empathy, passion, and curiosity in Innovation Studio courses. This role will help students think deeply about the world through various lenses of human needs, positive societal impact, and environmental sustainability, and enable them to take action through real-world, hands-on projects. Essential skills utilized include 3-D modeling, designing/sketching with Adobe Illustrator, engineering with electronics, coding, and producing artifacts in our state-of-the-art maker space and woodshop. Innovation Studio courses are semester-based, with a foundations course that all new students enroll in, and the remaining program is built on relevant electives. 
 Teaching and learning revolve around a competency-based education system aligned with our Pillars: Innovation &#38; Entrepreneurship, Human-Centered Design, Integrated &#38; Experiential Learning, and Belonging &#38; Togetherness. This system assesses &quot;Pillar&quot; competencies applicable across all academic departments, as well as department-specific competencies, to demonstrate expertise in a particular subject. The NEIA values of equity, agency, and adaptability are deeply embedded in this approach, ensuring that students develop skills crucial for the next generation of leaders. NEIA&#39;s educational process extends beyond traditional classrooms, encompassing activities such as advocacy groups, after-school activities, residential programs, service projects, expeditions, and internships. These activities embody and promote NEIA&#39;s values, striving to provide an innovative, relevant, and future-focused learning experience.  Under the supervision and guidance of the Head of Teaching &#38; Learning, teachers are responsible for preparing lesson plans, regularly updating curriculum, and collaborating with colleagues. Their duties include assessing student work and performance through NEIA&#8217;s competency-based model, providing feedback, documenting student progress, writing student report notes, and assigning learning extensions.  Expectations for all Teachers 
 Teaching staff are employed on a 12-month, exempt basis, featuring a distinct vacation and paid time off (PTO) structure compared to non-teaching staff. Their vacation days align with school vacation periods, subject to a few key conditions: 
 
 Preparation for Class Resumption: Teachers must be prepared to resume teaching immediately after school vacation. 
 Responsiveness to Work Communications: Teachers are expected to respond to work-related communications within a reasonable timeframe when school is in session &#8212; ideally within 24-48 hours. 
 Summer Vacation Responsibilities: Teachers are expected to prepare for the upcoming academic year during the summer break. This preparation includes tasks such as updating course outlines, organizing classes on Google Classroom, and planning lessons. As the school and academic programs grow, teachers are expected to develop new curricula, under the oversight of the Director of Curriculum &#38; Professional Learning.&#xa0;&#xa0; 
 
 During the academic year, teaching staff are entitled to five (5) days of PTO, which can be used for sick or personal days. During the roughly 32 weeks of the school year, teaching staff should expect to work up to 55 hours per week. 
 
  Core Responsibilities: 
 
 
 Teach four classes &#8212; or the equivalent &#8212; per semester. 
 Serve as an Advocate (advisor) for a group of students and implement programming as required. 
 Adhere to standard work hours: 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. (Mon-Thurs) and 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (Fri); standard work hours during two seasons of sports/after-school activities: 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (Mon-Thurs) and 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (Fri) 
 Be available for WIN Block (Mon-Thurs, 2:50 p.m.-3:30 p.m.), barring other NEIA commitments. 
 Follow Teaching Best Practices and manage platforms like Google Classroom and Otus. 
 Document year-long curriculum. 
 Take daily class attendance. 
 Comply with individual learning accommodations for students. 
 Write reports thrice yearly and conduct advocate calls and parent/guardian conferences. 
 Engage in ongoing professional learning as per NEIA&#8217;s framework. 
 Attend all-school and division meetings, weekly teacher meetings, subject-area meetings, and US and MS meetings. 
 Serve on ad hoc or standing committees as needed. 
 
 
  Extracurricular Involvement: 
 
 
 Lead or assist in two seasons of After-School Activities (ASAs) and one Club annually. 
 Chaperone student events, assist with athletic events, supervise recess and other non-structured times, and support ResLife weekend activities. Approximate expectation: 2 shifts per semester.&#xa0; 
 
 
  Event Participation: 
 
 
 Participate in Opening Meetings, Off-site Orientation Trips, Family Weekend, Monthly Professional Days &#38; Afternoons, PIN Points, Dive into NEIA, Accepted Student Days, Admission Open House Events, Graduation, NEIA Expo, and End-of-School Meetings, and other events as needed.

 Act as an emergency contact for residential students&#8217; guardians outside school hours (5:30 p.m. - 7:30 a.m. on weekdays).

 The Nurse Manager oversees health services to provide first aid, nursing care, and healthcare education to students.  Oversees immunization process and/or clinics ensuring all students meet the minimum compliance standards. 
 Provides emergency care and first-aid services to students and staff in the case of injury or sudden illness. 
 Oversees all Massachusetts Department of Public Health mandated health screenings and activities. 
 Aids in the prevention and control of communicable diseases through the development of programs to prevent the spread of illnesses and promote wellness. 
 Counsels students on how to establish, sustain and maintain a healthy lifestyle as needed. Works with students on preventative healthcare measures. 
 Works closely with all staff members to shape and maintain a healthy and safe school environment. Works closely with the NEIA community on proactive wellness strategies. 
 Interprets student health needs and prepares first aid supplies for field trips to faculty/support staff as necessary. 
 Assists School Counselors in identifying and meeting social, emotional, and physical needs of students, as well as mental health and behavioral issues.&#xa0; Provides supportive services to students, as necessary. 
 Maintains BLS certification as CPR, First Aid and AED Instructor for the school.&#xa0;&#xa0; 
 Partners with Chef Manager to manage the school&#8217;s food allergen plan.&#xa0; Educates staff on Epi-Pen administration. 
 Participates in the orientation and training of the teaching and residential staff on common medical and health-safety procedures. 
 Follows protocols, guidance, and directives from the CDC, DPH, and DESE related to health and safety measures to keep NEIA&#8217;s community safe.&#xa0;&#xa0; 
 Engages in ongoing professional learning and development per the school&#8217;s professional growth framework.&#xa0; 
 Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned and required by the position and the school. 
 
 Supervisory Responsibilities 
 
 The Nurse Manager supervises part-time or per diem Nurses at NEIA.&#xa0;&#xa0; 
 Education and/or Experience 
 
 Valid license to practice as a Registered Nurse in Massachusetts. 
 Associates degree in Nursing required.&#xa0; Bachelors preferred. 
 Valid MA DESE School Nurse license preferred. 
 Understanding of the social, psychological, and physical development of children and adolescents. 
 Ability to use and adapt to a wide array of technology as tools to support the Health and Wellness Program; familiarity with Magnus Health a plus. 
 Child health, community health, or other relevant clinical nursing experience or residential/school nurse experience required. 
 CPR, First Aid &#38; AED Certified. 
 BLS Certified Instructor.
