This role oversees valuation methodologies, ensures accurate reconciliation of billing subsystems to the general ledger, and serves as a key advisor to finance leadership, physician executives, and compliance partners while maintaining compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and nonprofit healthcare accounting standards. This position will also support the Financial Analytics team to develop, monitor and analyze enterprise-wide revenue budgets to ensure accurate forecasting, financial sustainability and alignment with organizational goals.

 Essential Functions: 
 
 Strategic Oversight of Patient Revenue and AR Valuation
 
 With the Revenue Analytics team, oversee the valuation of acute care and physician practice revenue and accounts receivable, including gross AR, contractual allowances, charity care, bad debt reserves, and other valuation adjustments 
 Establish, document, and maintain consistent valuation methodologies across acute care and employed and affiliated physician practices and specialties 
 Evaluate payer mix, volume trends, reimbursement rates and changes, collection performance, and regulatory impacts to refine reserve assumptions and valuation models 
 Monitor monthly KPIs and trend across periods to highlight potential issues. 
 Perform routine cash run out models to check against valuations for material discrepancies 
 Analyze and report on opportunities for revenue enhancement through process improvement 
 Introduce opportunities for automation to reduce human error and improve the overall quality and efficiency of revenue recognition and receivable valuation 
 Correlate revenue recognition with volume statistics to identify anomalies in financial performance requiring further review and analysis 
 Monitor actual revenue performance against budget and provide variance analyses with clear explanations and recommendations

 Billing &#38; Financial Governance
 
 Provide oversight and governance of Hospital Billing (HB) and Professional Billing (PB) subsystems to general ledger reconciliation processes 
 Ensure timely and accurate reconciliation of charges, payments, adjustments, and AR balances. 
 Serve as the escalation point for complex reconciling items, system issues, or data integrity concerns. 
 Ensure PB bill areas within billing sub-system correlate to the payroll areas within the financial system&#8217;s payroll module. 
 Partner with Revenue Cycle, Coding, IT, and Compliance to support sub-system upgrades, system changes, and reporting enhancements.

 Assesses and improves the quality of services provided in the department.

 Recommends space and other resources needed by the department. 
 Interviews, selects, promotes and terminates staff per established hospital policies and Federal/State laws. 
 Ensures that the disciplinary process is administered per established policy. 
 Applies and follows established organizational policies and procedures. 
 Ensures visibility and accessibility to all internal and external customers. 
 Works collaboratively with other departments to identify and pursue opportunities for improvement within the organization. 
 Utilizes principles of continuous policy improvement in all work situations to improve organizational and departmental functions. 
 Provides input and review of  annual  department budget for allocation of resources. 
 Coordinates and integrates the development of appropriate strategies and action plans to ensure the effective integration of the Financial Services Department functions with those of other hospital departments. 
 Assures that the quality, safety and appropriateness of patient care services provided within the departments are reviewed and evaluated on a regular basis and assures that appropriate action required by the findings of review activities are implemented. 
 Directs and participates in the development and execution of appropriate strategies and action plans to ensure the effective integration of the General Accounting and Financial Services Department function with those of other  department&#39;s  institutions&#39; long and short-term financial planning  process

 Qualifications: 
 
 Bachelor&#8217;s Degree with  major  in Accounting or Economics required. 
 MBA  or Fellow of the Healthcare Financial Management Association  desirable  but not required. 
 Certified  Public Accountant is desired or ten to twelve years financial management  experience  but not required with at least 5 years in a managerial position.

 Bachelor&#8217;s  degree in pharmacy, an advanced degree in pharmacy (PharmD or  Masters  of Science) or  Master&#39;s  in Business Administration  required . 
 Minimum of 15 years progressive experience in operations and hospital pharmacy management, with at least 8 years in a senior leadership role. 
 Apexus  Advanced 340B Operations Certificate strongly preferred. 
 In-depth knowledge of the 340B program, including contracted pharmacy relationships,  Apexus  and HRSA recommendations and requirements. 
 Excellent financial management, delegation, and organizational skills. 
 Sound business acumen focused on maximizing business and financial results. 
 Expertise in regulatory compliance as related to assigned functional areas. 
 Strong executive presence and relationship building skills with proven ability to influence, lead and direct stakeholders in multiple functional areas and across all levels. 
 Proven effective leader known for curiosity, creativity and transformational problem-solving. 
 Demonstrated advancement of pharmacy practices and continuous business development. 
 Proven competency in all components of Microsoft 365.

 Pay Range: $375,000.00 - $525,000.00 per year

 Vice President, Ambulatory Health Informatics

 Job Overview: 
 The  RWJBH  Vice President of Ambulatory Health Informatics will function as the Ambulatory  CMIO  and physician executive responsible for the strategic direction and management of clinical information systems across all ambulatory/outpatient care settings within the system. This role leads the development, implementation, and optimization of ambulatory clinical systems, ensuring alignment between technology initiatives and clinical care delivery in the outpatient environment. This position will report to the  CHIO  to ensure that technology investments and implementations support the  organizations  ambulatory clinical objectives while enhancing practice efficiency and patient outcomes. 
 &#xa0; 
 Reports to:  
 
 The Vice President of Ambulatory Health Informatics reports directly to the SVP &#38; Chief Health Information  Officer - CHIO , RWJBarnabas  Health 
 
 &#xa0; 
 Qualifications: 
 
 Licensed and board-certified MD/DO with recent clinical experience and  ability  to maintain an active  Ambulatory  practice at  RWJBH 
 Board Certification in Clinical Informatics and their clinical specialty 
 A minimum of 5 years&#8217; experience as a physician informatics leader with progressive leadership responsibilities in a complex, multi-specialty healthcare environment 
 Fellowship Training in Medical Informatics, Degree in Computer Science/Engineering, or  master&#8217;s  in  clinical informatics   preferred 
 Epic Certifications including Physician Builder preferred 
 
 &#xa0; 
 Essential Functions: 
 
 Strategic planning for ambulatory clinical systems 
 Clinical decision support and workflow optimization for outpatient care 
 Clinician adoption and engagement in ambulatory and clinic settings 
 Population health and preventive care initiatives 
 Integration of artificial intelligence and machine learning in ambulatory care 
 Standardization of clinical documentation and templates 
 Optimization of clinical workflows in practice settings 
 Liaison with Rutgers promoting Research and Academics, including the development of a Clinical Informatics Fellowship 
 80 percent administrative and 20 percent clinical responsibilities 
 Respected and trusted clinician and informaticist 
 Demonstrates openness and honesty in interactions, and accountable 
 Drives change, while communicating effectively, and producing evidence to support change. 
 Team player who promotes the concepts of people working together 
 Contemporary clinician who understands major trends in healthcare and is familiar with point of care products and medical informatics trends and tools. 
 Expertise in process improvement, data analysis and the use of information systems to develop and support outcome measurement and management.
