Overview Reporting to the Manager of Immigration, the Immigration Specialist interfaces with the institution?s academic and administrative populations.   Responsibilities Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: Partners with all members of an international population, including maintaining constant communication with new hires regarding visa documents; Assembles documentation, prepares, and files employment-based non-immigrant visa petitions. Ensures timely and accurate completion of all paperwork; compiles required legal documentation, advises visa holders; serves as an Alternate Responsible Officer for the J-1 visa program and Designated School Official for the F-1 visa program; reviews immigration procedures and legal status of foreign employees;&#xa0; Oversees case management of H-1B, TN, O-1, and E-3 visa holders. Oversees maintenance of Public Access files and assists with the University?s I-9s; Stays up to date on changes in immigration laws and proactively communicates impacts to stakeholders, ensuring University compliance;&#xa0; Serves as a secondary point of contact for employees requiring immigration assistance; Addresses immigration concerns and questions and responds to inquiries with empathy and professionalism; Provides advice and guidance, as well as ongoing education and training to the university administrative community on office processes that are in line with immigration regulations pertaining to work permits, visa renewals, and permanent residency sponsorship for foreign nationals. Supports Data Management and Reporting; Prepares regular reports and analysis to track immigration metrics and provide insights to HR leadership. Assists with policy development and process improvements related to immigration programs. Supports New Hire Orientation and Front Desk activities;&#xa0; &#xa0; Additional duties and special projects as assigned.   Qualifications REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Must possess a Bachelor?s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Legal Studies, or a related field; At least three (3) years of employment-based immigration, preferably in an HR or legal environment Strong knowledge of U.S. immigration laws and procedures (experience with global immigration is a plus). Experience working with immigration case management systems and HRIS platforms is required. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with diverse populations. Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. High level of discretion and confidentiality. High proficiency with Microsoft Office and similar applications.&#xa0; &#xa0; PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Advanced degree preferred. &#xa0; The ideal candidate must be organized, detail-oriented, able to prioritize, and work independently. Exceptional analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills are necessary. Must be comfortable in a multicultural, multilingual international community. Must be passionate about building connections and networking. Efficient and effective work, while maintaining attention to detail, is required. The department is in the midst of a major transition in culture,including the adoption of DevOps and Agile practices,the facilitation of self-service approaches,as well as a &#39;cloud first&#39; deployment philosophy.  Overview Reporting to the Director of Infrastructure, we seek a hands-on Linux (DevOps) Engineer to lead automation, configuration management, and infrastructure modernization efforts at The Rockefeller University. This is a technical, individual contributor role. You will collaborate with a small team and be expected to drive and implement DevOps best practices.   Responsibilities Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Maintaining and advancing Ansible-based configuration management used to support the team?s systems and roles used across multiple teams Improving GitLab CI/CD pipelines and supporting the migration to GitLab SaaS Managing Docker Swarm clusters and assisting in architecting a replacement.&#xa0; Implementing infrastructure automation and improving provisioning processes for physical, virtual, and cloud servers Monitoring system health and performance   (CheckMK)  and advocating for observability best practices Other duties and special projects, as needed   Qualifications REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor?s degree required Must have 2 plus years of demonstrated experience using Linux operating system, working knowledge of provisioning and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, Swarm), and experience managing CI/CD environments Ability to build and maintain code repositories with Git, required.
