 Job Summary 
 The Director of Development and Community Engagement at UCDS will lead all aspects of the Development Office, including donor relations, frontline fundraising and major gifts, alumni relations, and volunteer coordination in support of the school&#8217;s mission and values. This role is central to building a strong culture of philanthropy across faculty, staff, and the broader school community. Reporting directly to the Head of School and working closely with the Board of Trustees, the Director will develop and implement strategic, data-informed approaches to strengthen UCDS&#8217;s financial sustainability, deepen long-term donor relationships, and expand community engagement. 
 Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 
 Strategic Fundraising and Campaign Leadership 
 
 Build and shape a comprehensive giving strategy aligned with the UCDS strategic plan. 
 Design and execute integrated fundraising strategies to support institutional priorities. 
 Lead capital campaign efforts from feasibility through execution, serving as both lead 
 Strategist and solicitor (portfolio size and campaign goal to be determined). 
 Develop data-informed strategies to engage and steward donors at all levels,  continuously assessing and refining fundraising effectiveness. 
 
 Donor Engagement and Relationship Management 
 
 Cultivate and steward relationships with major donors and key community stakeholders, including corporate and foundation partners. 
 Design and implement strategic donor engagement plans that support both immediate and long-term giving goals. 
 Expand the donor base while strengthening retention and re-engagement of existing supporters. 
 
 Collaboration and Communications 
 
 Partner with admissions, marketing, and communications teams to develop compelling, mission-aligned messaging. 
 Ensure consistency and alignment of development communications with broader  institutional goals. 
 
 Data-Driven Development Management 
 
 Utilize Veracross to manage donor relationships, track contributed revenue, and inform strategy. 
 Apply data insights to prepare monthly reports, monitor performance, guide  decision-making, and optimize development outcomes. 
 
 Leadership and People Management 
 
 Supervise and support the Development team, fostering a collaborative, high-performing, and growth-oriented culture. Working with a team of 2 direct reports: Assistant Director of Development, Development and Event Manager. 
 Engage cross-functional teams and volunteers to strengthen community-building efforts aligned with the UCDS mission and related to development department events. 
 
 Supervisory Responsibilities &#xa0; 
 The Development Director oversees the work and job performance of the following direct reports and those in their departments: 
 
 Assistant Director of Development 
 Development &#38; Events Manager 
 Development Assistant &#38; Community Liaison 
 Parent/Guardian Association members 
 Volunteers 
 Alums 
 Education &#38; Experience: 
 
 Minimum of 5 years of development experience,  including capital campaign work and community-centered initiatives. Bachelor&#8217;s degree required; Master&#8217;s degree preferred. 
 Strategic and Analytical Skills:  Demonstrated ability to use data to inform fundraising strategy, donor engagement, and campaign planning. 
 Leadership and Collaboration:  Proven experience managing teams, working with senior leadership, and engaging diverse stakeholders. 
 Communication and Donor Relations:  Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a strong ability to cultivate and steward donor relationships. 
 Commitment to DEI:  Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, with the ability to integrate these principles into all aspects of development work. 
 
 Qualifications: 
 
 Experience implementing innovative and creative fundraising strategies. 
 Demonstrated success leading capital campaigns. 
 Proficiency with donor management systems and financial reporting tools.

Salary starts at $140,000, depending on degree/experience.

 Job Summary&#xa0; 
 The Studio Classroom/EDP Support position supports the Infant-Toddler Education Program (known as The Studio). They help with all elements of learning and care, including school day and afternoon programming, summer programming, classroom management, and student well-being.&#xa0; 
 &#xa0; 
 Essential Duties &#38; Responsibilities 
 
 Assists the Lead Teachers and Special Programs Leads with facilitating provocations, projects, and activities with an approach that is culturally sensitive, follows an anti-bias perspective, and is reflective of children&#8217;s developmental abilities. 
 Assists and provides classroom support for all Studio classroom teachers and teams carrying out the daily classroom routines, activities and tasks. 
 In collaboration with all Studio faculty and staff: implements and facilitates summer programming. 
 Works with lead teachers and staff to create a positive and safe learning environment that meets the health, safety and developmental needs of students according to licensing regulations and health and safety procedures. 
 Practices thoughtful, respectful and successful classroom management techniques. 
 Assists in providing all necessary care for young children such as changing diapers, preparing bottles, feeding, changing clothes, helping with naps, etc.&#xa0; 
 Helps to prepare and gather materials required to implement daily program activities.&#xa0; 
 
 Classroom Coverage Duties 
 
 In collaboration with classroom teachers, provides classroom coverage during parent/guardian conferences and team or individual planning times.&#xa0; 
 Assists and provides classroom support for any/all Studio classrooms and teams during lunch breaks, planned and unplanned absences, and as needed. 
 Provides care for faculty/staff EDP during in-service days and monthly staff meetings as needed.&#xa0; 
 Facilitates the end of school day routine when covering the classrooms during team plannings.&#xa0; 
 
 Collaboration 
 
 Proactively communicates with all Studio faculty and staff to ensure that all student and program needs are met. 
 Proactively communicates with the lead teachers and with the director/assistant director when appropriate, keeping them informed of significant happenings in the classroom and in the program.&#xa0; 
 
 Program Requirements 
 
 Completes other projects as assigned by the Infant-Toddler Education Program Director or Assistant Director. 
 Communicates effectively (verbally and in writing) with others, including administrators, colleagues, staff, parents/guardians in order to maintain constructive and professional relationships. 
 Takes part in pre-service and in-service professional development when not providing classroom coverage.&#xa0; 
 Carries out all policies according to The Studio educational philosophy, licensing regulations, The Studio Handbook, and The Studio Health and Safety Policies Handbook.covering the classrooms during team plannings 
 Maintains Washington State Department of Children Youth and Families (DCYF) Statewide Training and Resource System (STARS) hours. daily activities that are developmentally appropriate, culturally sensitive, follow an anti-bias perspective, and meet children&#8217;s developmental needs.&#xa0; 
 Keeps personal information regarding children and their families confidential. 
 Participates in annual goal setting and receives regular feedback, facilitated by the Infant-Toddler Education Program Director and Assistant Director.&#xa0; 
 
 Supervisory Responsibilities 
 
 This position has no direct reports.&#xa0; 
 Education and/or Experience 
 
 High School Diploma or equivalent&#xa0; 
 Associate&#39;s Degree or Bachelor&#39;s Degree Preferred 
 At least one year of experience working with children (coursework or a degree in early childhood education is preferred) 
 Familiarity with the Reggio-Emilia philosophy is preferred
