Position description   Position: Unit 18 Lecturer (non-senate)  Wen School of Public Health at the University of California-Irvine is currently accepting applications for temporary Unit 18 Lecturers (Non-Senate Faculty) for the 2026-2027 academic year to teach courses in graduate and undergraduate programs. Professional expertise and previous teaching experience in online, remote, hybrid, and/or on-ground modalities are required. Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience. Generally, lecturers are offered appointments for one quarter at a time and at varying percentages of time, depending on the number and nature of courses assigned. Some courses are scheduled during the day; other courses are scheduled for evenings.  Applicants should hold a master&#39;s or doctoral degree, or equivalent degree in public health or a related field and have sufficient expertise to teach core courses at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels, serving various degree programs in the school. These programs include undergraduate majors in Public Health Policy and Public Health Sciences, minors in Public Health and Global Health, and MPH concentrations in Biostatistics, Community Health and Health Equity, Environmental and Occupational Health, Epidemiology, Global Health, and Health Systems and Policy. Candidates should possess excellent pedagogical and organizational skills. The incumbent is responsible for the entire scope of planning, operations, and resource management for the School, involving its instructional, research, and administrative functions with administrative management responsibilities for the following functional departments: Anthropology, Chicano-Latino Studies, Cognitive Sciences, Economics, Global and International Studies, Language Science, Logic and Philosophy of Science, Political Science and Sociology, as well as the School&#39;s research and administrative units. The Nuclear Reactor Facility serves an important component in the Department of Chemistry&#39;s tripartite mission of teaching, research and service. Your Role on the Team The UCI Nuclear Reactor Facility, established in 1968 and operational since 1969, houses a Mark I TRIGA reactor capable of 250 kW steady state operation and pulses up to 1.21 GW. Our facility is primarily used for neutron activation analysis, determining elemental composition of samples non-destructively for up to 74 different elements. We serve educational, commercial, and industrial customers while supporting the university&#39;s mission through unique research and analysis methods.  We are seeking an experienced project manager and engineering professional with in-depth understanding of the nuclear field to independently perform the full range of responsibilities in our Nuclear Reactor Facility. This role requires compliance with campus and Nuclear Regulatory Commission regulations, broad job knowledge, and the ability to analyze diverse problems and determine effective solutions. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to the growth, quality, and clinical excellence of a developing heart transplant program within an established academic cardiac surgery and destination LVAD center. Program Overview   The Division of Cardiac Surgery is a core component of UCI Health Heart and Vascular Institute. The division is committed to excellence in patient-centered care through advanced surgical techniques, innovative technologies, and multidisciplinary collaboration with cardiology, advanced heart failure, critical care, anesthesia, vascular surgery, and allied health teams. Position description   The OctoPath Lab ( www.octopath.org ), led by Prof. Lipkova, is seeking applications from exceptional postdoctoral research fellows interested in developing deep learning and computational methods for pathology image analysis, multimodal data integration, and other medical modalities (e.g., proteomics, spatial transcriptomics, genomics, radiology). Postdoctoral applicants should have Ph.D., a solid publication record and strong professional references. The ideal candidate should have a significant mathematical and computational background to learn and develop new AI methods. While demonstrated experience in computer vision and deep learning for pathology or other biomedical image analysis is desirable, applicants with a strong machine learning background and an interest in transitioning to biomedical data science are also encouraged to apply. Initial appointments are for two-years and renewal is based on performance and available support.  Environment and Opportunities The lab focuses on developing AI methods to improve patient diagnosis, prognosis, treatment response prediction, and treatment optimization. We are particularly interested in a) developing novel AI methods for analyzing pathology data, b) multimodal data fusion strategies, c) development of computational methods for rare diseases and new modalities (e.g., multiphoton microscopy), and d) translating AI solutions into clinical practice through the development of AI-based embedded devices. We are committed to applying these techniques to pressing clinical needs in medicine, including oncology, immunology, organ transplantation, and neurodegenerative diseases, while making our tools accessible to the research and medical communities. Our lab is part of the UCI School of Medicine which includes the Chao Family Comprehensive Cancer Center, one of the top National Cancer Institutes in USA, and we are affiliated with the UCI School of Biomedical Engineering.
