The Assistant Director of Post Award is the primary source of expertise to ensure that awards are managed following sponsor requirements, regulatory compliance requirements, University, Federal, and State policies and regulations governing financially sponsored research.   Prepare and route prior approval requests, progress/financial status reports, and ensure documentation is submitted correctly and in a timely manner to the sponsor.   Provide post-award transactional support for faculty portfolios, including commitment management, projections, cost transfers, and other related financial grant management tasks through award close-out.   Maintain current knowledge of University and Federal policies, and other grant and contract-related regulations.   Assist faculty and staff in the fiscal management of sponsored projects, interpret award documents, provide appropriate documentation to set up grant/project accounts, and ensure that financial compliance obligations are met.   Partner with the pre-award/contracts/award team on complete grant lifecycle management, including crafting projections, identifying risks and delays to spending, requesting budget revisions, amendments, NCEs, and other award modifications.   Provide Principal Investigators with regular account reports for all sponsored projects and hold meetings on a quarterly basis.   Cultivate and maintain strong customer service, working partnerships, and effective communications with faculty, Principal Investigators, sponsors, and other key stakeholders.   Provide direction, training, and assistance to Principal Investigators and department staff in award management, including, but not limited to, budgeting and financial statements, interpretation of sponsor terms and policies, use of internal financial systems, and University policies and procedures.   Review terms and conditions on award documents as appropriate. Collaborate with the Pre-award team to negotiate award terms, as necessary, and to facilitate agreements, including subcontracts.   Responsible for preparing effort reports and facilitating the effort certification process.   Hold regular and quarterly meetings with the Office of the Controller and Finance on sponsored awards.   Maintain institutional reporting on expenditures, spending activity, and forecasting for sponsored awards.   Play a key role in the development and continuous improvement of the financial grant management process.   Review and analyze client interactions and current methods.   Make recommendations for and participate in the implementation of policy changes as appropriate.   Analyze and understand complex information from multiple sources, including funding opportunity announcements, funding interest matches, Federal regulations, and sponsor requirements, to manage awards effectively.   Keep abreast of laws, regulations, external and internal policies and procedures governing the administration of grants and contracts.   Ensure that key personnel are compliant with regulatory, University, and other training mandates.   Responsible for issuing outgoing sub-award agreements and subrecipient risk assessment and monitoring.   Perform other duties assigned by the Office of Sponsored Programs and the Controller&#39;s Office.     Experience &#38; Educational Background: Minimum Qualifications     Bachelor&#39;s degree and five years of related experience, or ten years of experience in a business organization or governmental agency performing financial grants and contracts administration and compliance management. Sufficient skills in the information technology area to demonstrate acquisition and use of web-based and other computer-assisted systems and procedures. 								<description>New York, New York,  Student Accounts Counselor  Student Health Insurance Focus Job No:  498393 Work Type:  Staff Full-time Department:  Office of Student Finance Location:  Wilf Campus, 500 West 185th Street, NY, NY Categories:  Accounting/Finance, Administrative Support, Student Services Position Summary:  The Student Accounts Counselor will provide high-quality service to students and families in all matters related to student billing, payment plans, and especially student health insurance. This role serves as the key liaison for student health insurance inquiries and ensures compliance with institutional and regulatory requirements. This position will work primarily at the Wilf and Beren campuses, and other campuses as needed. It has the potential to be remote for a day a week during the school year and 3-4 days per week in the periods when students are not on campus.  This key position is part of the senior leadership team of the Office of Student Accounts. The position works under the direction of the University Director of Student Finance and the Director of Student Accounts.  Position Responsibilities:   Serve as the main point of contact for all student health insurance matters.   Assist students with enrollment and waivers related to the student health insurance plan.   Coordinate with the insurance broker/provider to ensure accurate and timely processing of student insurance data.    Participate in annual reviews of insurance plans, including rate negotiations and benefit updates.   Educate students and families about health insurance requirements and options.   Process student account transactions, including tuition payments, refunds, and adjustments.   Counsel students on payment plans, account holds, and financial obligations.   Collaborate with other departments (e.g., Student Aid, Registrar, Health Services to ensure seamless student support.   Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with FERPA and HIPAA regulations.     Experience &#38; Educational Background:   Bachelor&#39;s degree in Business, Finance, Higher Education, or related field.   2+ years of experience in student accounts, financial services, or health insurance administration.
