 We are currently hiring a full-time clinical audiologist position. An audiologist provides services for the prevention, identification, diagnosis, consultation, and rehabilitation to patients with hearing and balance disorders. Audiologists at Mayo Clinic work in a variety of specialties within the scope of practice.

 &#xa0; 
 This position includes approximately 50% placement (2.5 days/week) in our vestibular clinic assessing patients with dizziness and unsteadiness using posturography, rotational chair, vestibular-evoked myogenic potentials, video head-impulse testing and videonystagmography. This also includes approximately 50% placement (2.5 days/week) on our diagnostics team performing assessments on adults with hearing loss and other otologic concerns.

 The vestibular and diagnostic practices see patients with complex symptom presentation and work closely with our ENT providers as well as specialists in neurology, behavioral medicine, and physical medicine and rehabilitation to provide patients with comprehensive testing, diagnoses and treatment plans.

 Key Responsibilities: 
 Clinical Audiology: 
 
 See pediatric patients in the Roseburg office. Other locations may be added based on demand.&#xa0; 
 Provide a range of screening and diagnostic hearing evaluations for children birth to 26 presenting with a range of developmental capabilities. 
 
 Evaluate hearing using VRA, CPA, ABR, OAE, immittance.&#xa0; 
 
 Analyze test results and make recommendations for communication, educational and cognitive development, and implications for family, staff, medical and educational providers.&#xa0; 
 
 Communicate in a manner that meets the age and/or educational levels of the child, family, and relevant partners.&#xa0; 
 
 Provide initial and ongoing treatment services for children who are D/HH. 
 
 Review hearing care options and make recommendations that fit the child&#8217;s needs. 
 Order, program, and verify hearing aids, cochlear implants, bone conduction hearing devices, and/or assistive listening devices. 
 Counsel families on hearing device use, care, maintenance, and realistic expectations. 
 Perform case management including hearing aid checks, repairs, earmold impressions, and fitting.&#xa0;&#xa0; 
 Support aural (re)habilitation.&#xa0; 
 
 Engage in continuing education to enhance professional knowledge. 
 
 Integrate new developments into practice.

 Educational Audiology: 
 
 Provide educational audiology services to districts contracting with soundSTART. 
 Select, fit, and monitor students&#8217; Hearing Assistive Technology (HAT). 
 Troubleshoot equipment in person and via telehealth. 
 Attend meetings for students, as requested. 
 Train educational staff in the use of HAT and integration of DHH students into their classrooms. 
 Partner with classroom teachers, teachers of the deaf, interpreters, speech-language pathologists to meet each child&#8217;s needs.

 Administrative: 
 
 Use CounselEar for documentation, coding, and billing. 
 Assist in the maintenance of all clinic equipment, space, and supplies. 
 Document screening and diagnostic testing to the Oregon Early Hearing Detection and Intervention (EHDI) program.&#xa0; 
 Provide referrals to appropriate health care and education specialists. 
 Reach out to potential partners to support hearing wellness and early identification of hearing concerns.&#xa0; 
 Train and supervise Newborn Hearing Screeners. 
 Advocate for high-quality hearing care for children throughout Oregon.
