Adheres to college policies in utilizing the college-issued credit card for team-related expenses, and reconciles expenses as necessary. - Assists head coach with film review and game strategy. - Maintains an active social media presence for the team posting daily to every three days. - Provides support in carefully tracking expenditures for all team accounts to ensure fiscal responsibility. Adheres to financial protocols when making purchasing recommendations or decisions. - Assists with approved fund-raising activities as requested and coordinates all such efforts through the Director of Athletics and Office of College Advancement - Compiles data and reports in a timely fashion when requested by the head coach or a senior level administrator. Synthesizes information and makes recommendations to leadership. - Understands and adheres to and enforces all policies and procedures of the Department of Athletics and the College as well as the rules and regulations of the NESCAC, the NCAA and other authorities that may legitimately influence the intercollegiate athletics program. - Completes all required departmental and institutional training and certification programs and actively participates in available professional development opportunities. - Performs secondary duties to support department operations. Job Description: Longwood University invites applications for the position of Head Coach, Women’s Lacrosse (GA209). The Head Coach is responsible for the leadership, development, and administration of the NCAA Division 1 women's lacrosse program competing in the Big South Conference. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to build and sustain a competitive mid-major program while advancing Longwood University's mission of academic excellence, student-athlete development, and community engagement. Essential Responsibilities and Duties: Program Leadership and Vision Provide strategic vision and leadership for the women's lacrosse program consistent with Longwood University values. Establish a positive, disciplined, and inclusive team culture. Ensure full compliance with the NCAA, Big South Conference, and university policies. Represent the program within the department, conference, campus, and community. Coaching and Competitive Success Plan and conduct all practices, competitions, and training sessions. Develop offensive, defensive, and transition strategies. Prepare game plans, scouting reports, and film analysis. Manage game-day operations and travel. Recruiting and Roster Management Lead a comprehensive recruiting strategy aligned with intuitional and academic standards. valuate and recruit prospective student-athletes capable of Division 1 success. Maintain appropriate recruiting pipelines for the Big South mid-major institution. Manage roster composition, scholarships, and retention. Staff Supervision and Administration Hire, supervise, and evaluate assistant coaches and support staff. Manage program budget and administrative responsibilities. Promote staff professional development and collaboration. Academic and Student-Athlete Support Promote academic achievement and graduation success. Monitor academic progress in coordination with academic support staff. Serve as a mentor and role model for student-athletes. External Relations and Advancement Assist with fundraising and alumni engagement initiatives. Participate in community outreach and promotional activities. Support marketing and media relations efforts. Requirements: Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred. Coaching experience at the NCAA Division 1 level; head coaching experience preferred. Demonstrated recruiting success. Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations. Strong leadership and communication skills. Preferred Qualifications Previous head coaching experience, preferably in collegiate lacrosse. Experience recruiting in the Big South region.
