 REPORTS TO:&#xa0;&#xa0;  Superintendent SUPERVISES:&#xa0;&#xa0;&#xa0;  All Certificated and Classified staff assigned to the site WORK PERIOD:  11 months, 211 days PRIMARY PURPOSE: The Principal establishes and maintains an appropriate school climate for achieving district goals and objectives through curriculum implementation, and is also responsible for carrying out district policies, procedures and programs. The Principal keeps learning and standard-based achievement for students as the primary focus.&#xa0; &#xa0; 
 ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES 
 
 Provides leadership in instruction and curriculum. 
 Maintains knowledge of current educational issues, trends and best practices regarding curriculum, instruction and assessment at both the state and national level. 
 Recruits, selects and recommends the appropriate school site personnel. 
 Develops a site team to implement student academic achievement plans and goals. 
 Directs, supervises, observes and evaluates performance of staff members; provides systematic coaching and accountability evaluations; works with Human Resources to develop plans for improvement. 
 Supervises the safety, discipline and management of students. 
 Delegates authority to appropriate personnel.&#xa0; Maintains constructive personal relations with individuals and groups; mediates and resolves conflicts related to areas of responsibilities that involve staff, students, parents and community members. 
 Cultivates relationships with all stakeholders including parents, business partners, and advisory committee members. 
 Exhibits clear communication skills both orally and written. 
 Understands school finance and budgets.&#xa0; Possess the ability to maximize fiscal and Human Resources. 
 Seeks parent participation to support student success. 
 
 OTHER JOB DUTIES 
 
 Assumes the safety of equipment in the building and school grounds. 
 Serves as an ambassador and advocate for children, the school and the district as appropriate. 
 Serves as a collaborative member of the management team.&#xa0; Work for the goodness of the whole. 
 Performs special assignments as directed by the Superintendent.&#xa0; &#xa0;&#xa0; 
 
 WORKING RELATIONSHIPS 
 Reports to the Superintendent.&#xa0; Supervises certificated and classified staff members as assigned.&#xa0; Interacts regularly with other district administrators, district office staff, parents, community members, and administrators from other districts.&#xa0; 
 WORKING CONDITIONS 
 The daily work is performed in an administrative office setting.&#xa0; The position requires visual acuteness and mental concentration; excellent organizational skills; multi-tasking capability; a high degree of energy; the capacity to deal with frequent personal interactions; the ability to creatively problem solve; the capacity to deal with angry, distraught or hostile individuals; extra hours and regular attendance at functions before and after the regular work day; occasionally representing the district on potentially controversial matters. QUALIFICATIONS 
 Knowledge, Skills and Abilities 
 
 Knowledge of latest educational research, instructional theory and practices including assessment. 
 Knowledge of child development. 
 Knowledge of effective managerial and supervisory principles and practices. 
 Considerable knowledge of instructional technology and demonstrated skill in computer operation and use of a variety of software. 
 Ability to lead. 
 Ability to facilitate decision making with groups of diverse interest and values. 
 Ability to make effective, independent decisions. 
 Ability to analyze complex situations, synthesize a broad range of information and communication results in a succinct and clear manner. 
 Ability to create and maintain a climate of trust and respect.&#xa0; &#xa0;&#xa0; 
 Ability to inspire others to high levels of achievement and commitment. 
 
 Education and Experience 
 Master&#39;s Degree in Educational Administration and 5 (five) years of teaching experience; or any equivalent combination of education, experience and training that would provide the applicant desired knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties and responsibilities required.&#xa0; 
 Licensing and Certification 
 Valid California Administrative Services Credential&#xa0; EVALUATION Evaluation responsibilities are assigned to the Superintendent.&#xa0; Annual salary is based on 2026-2027 salary schedule, includes masters stipend

 Under the general supervision of the Superintendent, plans and administers an elementary school with general education and special education students. 
 The qualified candidates for the position will be required to: 
 
 Assume overall responsibility for the successful and efficient organization and administration of an elementary school 
 Provide support and resources for all students 
 Represent the Superintendent and the Board of Education in relationships with the staff, students, parents and public 
 Represent the needs of the staff, students, parents and public of the school to the Superintendent and the Board of Education 
 Provide leadership and encourage staff participation in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the curriculum of the school 
 Assist the staff in establishing school, division and individual goals, objectives and related instructional activities 
 Assist the staff in adapting the school&#8217;s program to meet the requirements of the individual student 
 Promote the accomplishment of the district&#8217;s educational goals and objectives, maintaining articulation and continuity throughout the curriculum 
 Be accountable to staff and community for the overall effectiveness of the school, making sure that all programs are educationally sound and administratively feasible 
 Serve on District Leadership Team Council and other committee(s) as assigned 
 Take an active role in planning, implementing and evaluating projects, activities and assignments which promote and enhance the welfare of the district and the school community 
 Direct policy-making at the school level, developing a shared-responsibility with teacher, students and parents for this function 
 Participate in the decision-making at all other levels when the policies in question affect the school&#8217;s operation 
 Responsible for the assignment, supervision, evaluation and guidance in professional and vocational growth of assigned certificated and classified personnel 
 Develop potential staff leadership by providing opportunities for professional growth through continuing in-service activities 
 Responsible for pupil control and for promoting the physical, mental, social, emotional growth and well-being of all students assigned to the school 
 Establish, maintain and improve an efficient school management program with emphasis in the following areas:
 
 School regulations, procedures and schedules 
 Reports and records 
 Maintenance of buildings and grounds 
 Safety 
 Budget, supplies, equipment and materials 
 Utilization of plant facilities by school and community 
 Attendance accounting 
 
 
 Interpret applicable federal and state laws, district policies and school regulations to staff, students, parents and public 
 Represent the school personally or be officially represented through delegated authority at all school-related events 
 
 An appropriate California Administrative Credential or its equivalent. 
 Knowledge of school curriculum, student assessment, staff accountability 
 Demonstrated administrative experience at the elementary school level preferred
