 As part of the Briggs Ranch Golf Club Agronomy leadership team, the Equipment Manager is responsible for managing the maintenance operation of the golf course and associated grounds under the direction of the Director of Agronomy. Implements Dormie Network company policies and procedures and assists with management of the maintenance staff. Must have the ability to maintain greens, tees, fairways, roughs, and other facilities to excellent standards. Responsible for maintenance equipment and agronomy facility maintenance.

 WHAT YOU&#8217;LL DO 
 As part of the Agronomy team, your essential functions and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 
 
 Performs routine maintenance checks to identify repairs necessary for proper operation of the mowing equipment, club cars, small tractors and loaders. 
 Completes repairs and routine preventative maintenance in a timely manner. 
 Grind or backlap reels as needed. 
 Operates small engine equipment, golf carts, small tractors and loaders. 
 Trains operators on the proper use of the equipment in a safe manner.

 EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE 
 
 Associate&#8217;s Degree in related field, higher preferred.

 The Equipment Manager is responsible for managing the equipment maintenance repair operations for the Golf Course Maintenance department. 
 QUALIFICATIONS 
 
 Knowledge of general business practices as applied to golf course operations practices and procedures preferred 
 Thorough knowledge of turf equipment maintenance operations and procedures as would normally be acquired through a secondary education or trades training or 3-5 years of equivalent experience in turf equipment maintenance and repair 
 Strong mechanical skills with thorough knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems, gasoline and diesel engine operation, repair and maintenance 
 Basic computer skills required 
 Prior supervisory experience preferred but not required 
 
 RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES 
 
 Develop, implement and maintain a preventative maintenance program for each piece of equipment used in the golf course maintenance operations 
 Work closely with the Director of Golf Course Maintenance Operations developing an annual operating budget for equipment maintenance 
 Train and instruct Equipment and Preventative Maintenance Technicians on proper procedures to follow while performing the daily assigned tasks required&#xa0; 
 Perform all routine preventative maintenance and curative maintenance which is required to keep the equipment in good condition 
 Establish and maintain proper parts inventory levels 
 Record all daily service records utilizing approved forms and equipment maintenance software, including task performed and inventory used and replenish inventory as needed 
 Manage equipment fleet preventative maintenance and repair, schedules, parts inventory, and maintenance repair history for each piece of equipment through the use of departmental approved software 
 Procure bids (three minimum) for all replacement parts and/or service work performed outside of the maintenance operations as detailed in the Golf Course Maintenance Operations Manual 
 Maintain logs for each piece of equipment regarding daily usage and fuel consumption 
 Provide assistance in training the golf course maintenance staff in the proper use of equipment 
 Ensure equipment maintenance shop and all appropriate areas are clean, organized, and provide a safe working environment for departmental staff. 
 Ensure that all equipment is kept clean and is in safe working condition at all times 
 Required to wear personal protective clothing and/or use protective equipment to comply with established safety operating standards

 Hold daily/weekly virtual and onsite meetings with advisors, and technicians to discuss workload and expectations for the day/week. Discuss customer service, billing, irregularities, communication, and recognition 
 Attend monthly staff meetings, discuss previous month&#8217;s financials, customer service results, turn times, and forecast for next month&#8217;s business 
 Conduct performance discussions with staff on expectations, priorities, ensuring they are meeting core roles, maintaining a standard level of utilization and billing at the appropriate level 
 Review monthly performance with focus on turn time and fixed right first trip with advisors, discuss impact strengths and opportunities 
 Follow up on the performance and processing of all customer bill, and warranty work to ensure we are exceeding goals and achieving deadlines set 
 Complete all annual reviews prior to the due date 
 Schedule and follow up on all training requirements for administrative and technician staff, to include testing, webinars, internal/vendor provided certification and training

 Reach out to customers, including equipment managers and superintendents, to gain insight into service performance. 
 Follow up with customers on negative feedback from RSS data 
 Monitor advisor calls to determine quality of service being offered 
 
 Process Accountabilities and Responsibilities 
 
 Coordinate with admin team to schedule all service work, consistently monitoring the capacity of the department, available technicians and the needs of the customers&#8217; 
 Coordinate with the Team on progress of repairs to determine if completion times are still accurate, then communicate customer status 
 Obtain authorization for repairs before repairs are conducted and document thoroughly on repair order authorization form with date, time, name and signatures or initials of person giving authorization for work to be completed 
 In coordination with the team&#8217;s advisor group, contact vendors and machine shops to facilitate repair of outsourced equipment 
 Follow up on the scheduling of service calls for repaired units, ensure advisors are discussing the completed repairs with customer, and verify contact for customer satisfaction survey follow up 
 
 Vendor Accountabilities and Responsibilities 
 
 Prepare team for monthly TAC calls, ensure team follows up on cases with Vendors weekly 
 Coordinate with the Warranty Administrator to monitor vendor warranty claims process 
 Coordinate with the Warranty Administrator on the return of defective parts through the RGA issuing process, track the return, and send to vendor for reimbursement 
 Communicate with vendors on a consistent basis, following up on any deficiencies, or needs 
 Manage Vendor rework reports ensuring timely completion.

 The club comprises 36 holes of golf, along with an extensive racquet program, including grass tennis courts.&#xa0; A renovation of the irrigation system will begin in September of 2026. 
 The Head Equipment Manager reports to the Director of Golf Courses and Grounds and oversees a comprehensive preventive maintenance program. This program includes the repair of failing equipment, keeping records of parts and labor needed to maintain each piece of equipment, and placing orders for parts and supplies needed for equipment or service.&#xa0; The equipment inventory includes a rotating John Deere master lease program consisting of GPS sprayers, rotary and reel equipment. On-going capital equipment plans are conducted via a useful life cycle program.&#xa0;

 Initial Priorities of the Position 
 
 Assess Fleet Condition &#8211; Inspect all equipment, document condition, service records, and replacement needs. 
 Establish Preventive Maintenance Schedule &#8211; Implement/refine structured program with tracking (daily, weekly, seasonal). Train staff on cleaning and basic care. 
 Organize Shop &#38; Inventory &#8211; Streamline the facility, audit parts, eliminate redundancies, ensure critical parts are stocked. 
 Build Trust with the Team &#8211; Collaborate with the director of golf courses and grounds, course superintendents, assistant superintendents, and other management personnel; develop relationships with operators through training and safety practices.
