 SUMMARY 
 
 The Coordinator of Sport Programs and Cain Sports Complex is responsible for elevating, delivering, and managing innovative, comprehensive Sports Programs (Intramural Sports, Club Sports, and Esports) as well as overseeing the Cain Sports Complex and Esports Room. This position maintains responsibilities related to program implementation, personnel management, budget management, and risk management. This position reports to the Senior Associate Director of Programs. 
 &#xa0; 
 DUTIES &#38; RESPONSIBILITIES 
 
 Develop, implement, and oversee the day-to-day operations of sports programs (Intramural Sports, Club Sports, and Esports) by established industry and safety standards. 
 Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Cain Sports Complex including three activity fields, four tennis courts, four sand volleyball courts, three support buildings, and the RecRe equipment check-out locker 
 Oversee the daily operations of the Esports room, including troubleshooting gaming PCs/consoles. 
 Recruit, hire, train, schedule, evaluate, manage payroll, and mentor all Sports Programs staff. 
 Advise, mentor, and train all club sports officers and leaders, including, but not limited to, member recruitment, opponent and field scheduling, club promotion, budget management, equipment management, risk management, and travel. 
 Develop, implement, and communicate policies, rules, and procedures to ensure safe, welcoming, and educational sports programs. 
 Develop and monitor the Intramural, Cub Sports, Esports, and Cain Sports Complex budgets. 
 Manage all equipment inventory, maintenance, and purchasing for the responsible areas. 
 Promote and market the Sports Programs, Cain Sports Complex, and Esports room. 
 Utilize various technology platforms to manage staff, participants, and programs. 
 Instruct American Red Cross CPR/AED/FA courses.  (must obtain and maintain within the first 6 months of employment). 
 Assist in collecting and analyzing participant and staff satisfaction/needs to measure program effectiveness, and implement new initiatives and long/short-term goals.

 Reporting directly to the Director of Strength and Conditioning, this position will be responsible for women&#8217;s basketball and other men&#8217;s and women&#8217;s contact and non-contact sports. This includes ensuring a safe and effective working environment in the varsity weight room, strength and conditioning program development and implementation for assigned sports, and working closely with the sports medicine program within university, conference, and  NCAA  rules and regulations.

 The Assistant Coach is required to maintain active certifications from the National Strength and Conditioning Association and/or Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Association, as well as demonstrate expertise of sport-specific training methodologies and a commitment, including but not limited to: effective program planning, periodization, competitive strategy, and student-athlete management.

 The Assistant Coach will be accountable for the execution of specific strategic activities and outcomes within the assigned sport(s) or area(s). These will include sustained performance, execution, and commitment to development in the following: 
 
 Ensuring training philosophies are approved by the Director of Strength and Conditioning 
 The use of independent discretion and judgment in creating strength and conditioning programs for assigned sports programs 
 Instructing student-athletes in proper and safe weight training techniques, plyometrics, speed development drills, conditioning exercises, and agility movements that are current and scientifically valid 
 Effectively communicating and collaborating with a diverse population of student-athletes, coaches and staff

 Job Summary 
 Plans, organizes, and administers the FIU Sport programs, including Intramural programming and sport club administration at Modesto Maidique Campus (MMC) and Biscayne Bay Campus (BBC). 
 
 Develops and manages Intramural Sports and Sport Clubs programming at MMC and BBC. 
 Manages the administration of the Sport Clubs program including officer trainings, leadership development, budget, policy management, travel, and risk management. 
 Participates in the development and implementation of Sport Programs and Adventure Recreation policies and procedures. 
 Manages the scheduling and administration of Intramural Sports leagues, tournaments, and events. 
 Collaborates with university programs and community for outreach programs related to Adventure Recreation. 
 Oversees the management and inventory of all equipment related to Sport Programs (IMs and Sport Clubs). 
 Assists with the annual Sport Programs budget. 
 Assists with the scheduling and administration of Adventure Recreation programs including Archery, Kayaking and TRAC. 
 Participates on University committees and/or with other departments to effectively promote any Wellness &#38; Recreation Center Services. 
 Participates in the development and implementation of the Wellness &#38; Recreation Center policies. 
 Maintains confidentiality of records in accordance with regulatory guidelines. 
 
 Minimum Qualifications 
 Bachelor&#39;s degree in related discipline. CPR/Standard First Aid Certification or must obtain certification within 45 days of employment. 
 Desired Qualifications 
 
 Master&#39;s degree in Sports Management or related field. 
 Previous experience in managing intramural/sport clubs and or working in a campus recreation program. 
 Experience with supervising and/or training employees. 
 Customer service experience.
