Overview We are looking to recruit a motivated individual with an advanced degree in Genetic Counseling or a PhD-trained scientist to join our team and help lead collaborative efforts in human immunology, with a focus on pediatric immunity and genetic immune disorders. The ideal candidate will have experience/interest in human immunology and human genetics and will be prepared to manage scientific and logistical elements of a complex research program involving multiple groups. We seek a highly collaborative and detail-oriented colleague who will support an ambitious and impactful vision. As part of a translational human immunology program, the Manager will be responsible for administration and strategic implementation of translational research objectives. Ideal candidates will be enthusiastic about program vision and oversight, willing to spearhead programmatic efforts, and adaptable to address varied goals. Responsibilities will include administrative elements of strategy implementation, grant reports, assistance with executing collaborative agreements, IRB study maintenance, RedCap utilization, patient recruitment/enrollment, research database management, specimen tracking and shipment, biobanking with specimen inventory management, clinical data curation and compilation, team member training and onboarding, website and social media presence, etc. Based on knowledge of science and research goals, the Manager will collaborate with PI to optimize coordination and efficiency/impact of the translational research pipeline. The Manager will oversee program milestones, plan and implement changes, determine potential sources of funding and prospective partnerships, develop reports and procedure/protocol manuals, and be responsible for team-based progress meetings. May perform other duties as assigned. Required Skills and Abilities Preferred Skills and Abilities 1. Advanced degree in Genetic Counseling or a PhD in a related scientific discipline. Principal Responsibilities 1. Designs, plans, implements and evaluates complex multifaceted research projects/systems, including method development, adaptation and validation. 2. Collaborates with PI to define research endeavors and the development of research hypothesis and approach. 3. Solves complex methodology, protocol, procedural and research problems through design of techniques, procedures and policies that will achieve research goals. 4. Develops long range plans for supplies and equipment to ensure smooth operation of laboratory. 5. Investigates, analyzes and evaluates complex data, data collection systems and methods to reach scientific conclusions and ensures the integrity of research data. 6. Collaborates with PI to coordinate major lab renovations working with Facilities, Health and Safety, and Purchasing to ensure deadlines, safety standards and purchases are according to plans and within budgets. 7. Prepares scientific reports and papers for research proposals and published reports. 8. May perform other duties as assigned.Required Education and Experience Master’s Degree in a scientific discipline and three years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
