| Employment Type: Permanent Staff (EHRA NF) Vacancy ID: NF0009701 Salary Range: $101,500 - $110,371 Position Summary/Description: The Associate Director of Parking Services and Strategy (AD Parking) is responsible for optimizing use of the University's limited and shrinking parking resources. The position reports to the Director of Transportation and Parking (Director of T&P) and serves as a key strategist for a University-wide operation that generates nearly $28 million per year. The position's scope includes parking services for faculty, staff, and students, hundreds of thousands of healthcare patients and visitors, and more than 4 million visitors who attend athletic events, arts programs, and other campus events each year. The position is responsible for collaboratively resolving competing stakeholder needs and priorities to best serve the University. The AD is responsible for the allocation process that determines parking availability for department units including UNC Hospitals. This position is a peer to the Associate Director of Transportation and Planning and works with the Director of T&P to meet the goals and constraints of the University's Master Plan and Development Plan pertaining to deck construction and parking. The position directs the work of a staff responsible for traffic management and parking on campus including efficient ingress and egress, permitting, cash/account management and enforcement. The AD Parking meets regularly with stakeholders and participates in a variety of campus-wide committees and task forces. Primary duties include: Developing policy recommendations governing the campus transportation and parking system and changes to the Ordinance Governing Parking and Transportation; making recommendations to the Director of T&P that ensure sufficient funding for parking operations and timely retirement of debt using multi-year financial models; overseeing the Parking Control, Parking Services, and Visitor Parking Services sections; providing personnel resource management for the Parking Division, which includes approximately 55 permanent staff and 15 temporaries. Education and Experience: Prefer management experience in a complex parking, transportation, and cash operation in a research university environment. Work requires extensive knowledge of cash and financial operations; skills in facilitating consensus among varied groups of stakeholders; staff management and leadership skills; and the ability to apply new technologies to solve real-world problems. Essential Skills: Seven to 10 years of progressively responsible experience in parking and transportation business operations, strategic planning and budget management including experience at the senior management level.
