Maret School seeks to fill various coaching openings for the 2026–27 school year. Specific details for each opening are listed beneath the application instructions.

Upper School Coaching
Maret seeks experienced and dedicated coaches to lead various Upper School athletic programs during the fall, winter and spring seasons. Candidates with youth, high school, collegiate, or club-level coaching experience are encouraged to apply. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of their sport, the ability to build meaningful relationships with student-athletes, and a commitment to fostering an inclusive, positive, and education-based athletic experience.

Practice and game schedules vary by sport but generally occur Monday–Friday between 3:30 and 5:45 p.m., with occasional Saturday commitments. Coaches are expected to arrive approximately 30 minutes prior to practices, games, and team departures to support preparation.

The successful candidate will embrace Maret’s mission and values by creating a safe, supportive, and challenging environment where student-athletes can develop skills, confidence, character, and a lifelong appreciation for sport.

Upper School Coaching Responsibilities

Plan and implement effective, purposeful practices that support individual and team development

• Teach sport-specific skills, strategies, and concepts while fostering growth on and off the playing field
• Support daily practice and game logistics, including field setup, equipment organization, transportation to off-campus facilities, and score reporting
• Build strong relationships with student-athletes, families, and school community members through clear and consistent communication
• Evaluate athlete and program development and communicate progress, goals, and areas for growth with the Athletic Director, athletes, and families
• Collaborate with the Athletic Department to support program goals and a positive team culture
• Identify and encourage potential future athletes through relationships with feeder programs and the broader community
• Create and maintain a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment where all athletes feel valued and empowered to learn and grow

Coaching Salary Ranges:  $2,300 - $8,500

Compensation is determined based on the specific responsibilities, experience, and scope of each coaching position. Each application is reviewed individually to ensure the salary offered appropriately reflects the role, including factors such as varsity or junior varsity responsibilities, program leadership expectations, and season commitments.

This range includes both head and assistant coaching positions across varsity and junior varsity programs.

Middle School Coaching Responsibilities

Maret seeks experienced and dedicated coaches to lead various Middle School athletic programs during the fall, winter and spring seasons. Candidates with youth, high school, collegiate, or club-level coaching experience are encouraged to apply. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of their sport, the ability to build meaningful relationships with student-athletes, and a commitment to fostering an inclusive, positive, and education-based athletic experience.

Practice times vary by program but generally occur Monday–Thursday between 1:30 and 3:45 p.m. Games are scheduled outside of regular practice times and typically take place Monday–Thursday beginning at 2:45 p.m., with competitions generally lasting approximately one hour. Additional time should be anticipated for away competitions to account for travel to and from campus. Coaches are expected to arrive approximately 30 minutes prior to practices, games, and team departures to support preparation.
