ESSENTIAL PURPOSE: To manage the staff and operations of the Golf Maintenance Department, to ensure first class quality functional and aesthetic standards while maintaining the highest possible levels of employee morale. ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
JOB KNOWLEDGE & EDUCATIONAL LEVEL: AA Degree in horticulture, turf management, or equivalent experience, required. Must have minimum four years experience in golf course maintenance, including at least one year in supervisory position. English fluency required. Spanish fluency helpful. Must have knowledge of all aspects of turf grass management and related equipment, to include latest technology and new products. Experience in management of POA greens is required. Experienced in irrigation system repair and construction, development of annual budget, employee supervision, and inventory control. Familiar with local Department of Health regulations, and current relevant laws governing handling of hazardous substances. SKILLS AND APTITUDES: Demonstrated ability to train staff and ensure luxury resort customer service. Strong written and verbal communications skills. Organized and efficient. Safety-minded. Good team player. Detail oriented. Highly self-motivated. Ability to effectively manage staff to maintain a high level of morale and productivity. Ability to work well under pressure.
